Job Description
The Director of Analytical Quality will be responsible for applying big data and analytic methodologies to ensure consistent quality standards across all predictive modeling solutions. Must possess experience manipulating large data sets, transforming raw data into attributes, confirming entity relationships, resolving complex algorithms and defining statistical based sampling techniques. The position must be able to manage a large number of data sources with various businesses, contractual and regulatory considerations. Must be able to clearly communicate model and attribute performance metrics to a wide range of technical levels.
The goal of this position is to insure all analytical solutions are accurate, completed timely and are in compliance with any internal and external requirements including regulatory, legal and contractual through the use of requirements reviews, appropriate sign-offs and statistical audits. Primary responsibilities include implementing, validating and monitoring predictive models and attributes into LexisNexis’ proven Big Data technology.
The Director supports multiple business teams in a fast paced matrixed environment. Interactions include tight coordination with the Modeling and Analytics Management team, Sr. Leadership, Legal, Modelers, Technology, Product Management, Vertical, sales, credit bureaus, consumer disclosure center and state regulatory agencies.
Accountabilities
Facilitate the creation of new and improved analytically based processes and procedures to streamline and automate the model and attribute quality review process to reduce turnaround time and ensure accurate results.
Manage key model and attribute quality functions including monitoring and improving current workflow and procedures.
Design and distribute reports and supporting documentation to communicate and record model quality metrics and compliance status across all projects. Work closely with Sr leaders and other designated parties to educate others on statistical based quality metrics.
Lead and manage a team of analysts.
Work closely with the Technology team to ensure that all model and attribute requirements are fully understood prior to the initiation of the programming effort and prior to modeling data files being turned back for analysis.
Continually evaluate compliance with our model and attribute quality programs and develop new statistically based quality processes and metrics based on emerging methodologies, regulations, competitive practices and industry research.
Serves as a primary escalation point related to issues and questions surrounding all Models.
Assess real or potential impact of proposed modifications to the audit process and manages LexisNexis’ compliance with data providers’ contractual requirements as they relate to the use of data in our models. Develop relationships with key stakeholders to foster an environment of open communication, understanding, and mutual respect amongst teams.
Develop and execute the strategic plan for Audit, including audit design and effectiveness strategies.
Work with leadership, in-house counsel and the business units to develop strategies for assessing compliance with international privacy laws as LexisNexis business units expand overseas.
Qualifications
B.A. or B.S. Degree in statistics, math, engineering, MIS, Computer Science, Finance or Accounting Required Experience & Training or applicable industry experience
10 years Modeling and Analytics experience including data analysis and data manipulation, familiar with predictive modeling processes, and statistical analysis, including at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
5 years Management experience.
Experienced in the use of modeling and analytics in insurance, financial services or data vendor business including an understanding of various output from statistical methodologies.
Experience preferred using analytical software packages like SAS, R, WPS, SPSS across a wide range of incoming data formats.
Thorough understanding of the regulatory environment, internal policies and procedures of perspective clients, and a keen understanding of the markets within which LNRM operates.
Excellent analytical and project management skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills including Customer-facing and teleconference presentation skills.
