Job Description
Reporting to the CTO, the Senior Director, Cloud Computing & Automation will be responsible for driving EA’s technical vision and strategy for major pieces of our digital gaming platform in close coordination with our gaming studios. They will lead a global team that includes product and program managers, developers, testers and operational professionals in building out our automated cloud strategy. The VP will serve as a catalyst for change to ensure that EA has the appropriate application engineering strategies, services, organizational capabilities and technology solutions that enable the company’s business goals, strategies and imperatives This person must be a world-class engineer with a passion for running engineering teams and must have worked with internet technologies of scale.
What a Senior Director, Cloud Computing & Automation Does At EA
Build and lead a global team to develop new cloud engineering solutions that allow the company to securely scale our infrastructure by building out a thin layer of software services that all game teams can utilize.
Create a best-in-class engineering environment within EA, and have a passion on creating a destination for top tier technical talent in the marketplace
Work closely with EA’s leadership across divisions to define and implement a cloud computing solution/ platform supporting diverse and evolving offerings
Work closely with our finance team to define the cost savings of moving to a more automated cloud environment and be able to clearly communicate these to EA’s leadership team.
Continue to drive an effective project management process to support EA’s aggressive delivery and growth goals
Incorporate and develop new technologies to encourage innovation across EA with a focus on improved product development
Key locations include: Seattle, Washington, Redwood City, California; Shanghai, China; Austin, Texas, Vancouver, British Columbia
The Next Great EA Senior Director, Cloud Computing & Automation Needs
The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of world-class engineering experience with a track record of working with web platforms of scale and cloud technologies. S/he should have experience building a direct-to-consumer technology capability and platform to support high volume and highly reliable interactive business operations. They will have experience leading change initiatives within large, complex, global environments and must balance “hands-on” technology expertise with the ability to lead global teams. The successful candidate will have experience working in a high technology environment (e.g., online services, software, web technologies). Most importantly, the VP will embrace working within a highly creative, technology enabled atmosphere in which fun and entertainment remain the central themes.

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
Master’s Degree in Computers Science preferred
