Dimension & Scope
The Director Sales is responsible for leading sales of Convergys' products; solutions; and services to new clients. This position will generate leads; develop targets into clients and meet revenue quotas as assigned by Sales and BU leadership. The Director Sales will assist Sales Leadership in providing input to sales goals and will collaborate with Sales Support; Program; and other departments to ensure the client's expectations are being met or exceeded.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
Responsible for management of existing and new business within assigned markets. Develop a thorough understanding of client short-term and long-term strategic requirements through discussions with existing and prospective client executive management. Maintain and update database with sales pursuit information. Recommend strategic and tactical plans to support assigned accounts. Champion the effort to grow and maintain the corporation's primary and long-term revenue base. Establish effective communications with senior management regarding sales force results and needs. Monitor economic and legal trends that could affect sales. Communicates progress of major sales initiatives. Create solutions to address client needs. Provide customer and market intelligence back to Sales, Product Management, Operations, IT, and PMO regarding Convergys strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats based on sales pursuit interactions. Provide input to Sales Leadership on optimal sales strategy for particular pursuits, based on client interactions.
Education & Professional Certifications
Bachelor's degree in related field from a four-year college or university with ten or more years related experience; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Candidate Profile
Extensive experience in building and managing long-term relationships with business partners and clients. Demonstrated ability to negotiate win-win agreements. Thorough understanding of Convergys' business, services, solutions, and an in-depth understanding of the industry in which the company operates. Ability to analyze data and translate into professional sales presentations. Excellent oral and written communication skills to all levels of client and company management. Demonstrated expertise in sales, marketing, customer service and research. Knowledge of the telecommunications/information systems industries and contact center operations is highly desirable. Highest standards of ethical behavior and positive contribution to the community, consistent with the heritage of the corporation. Must have proficiency with various software applications including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Demonstrated ability to transform prospects into client contracts
