Job description
Job Summary The Senior Director of OAI-sys Reporting & Analysis will develop and execute a strategic, multi-year plan supporting the governance, platforming, storage and delivery of data, analytics and reporting to the OAI-sys organization. OAI-sys is a centralized technology organization within Travelers responsible for Operations, Architecture and Infrastructure. The Senior Director will work directly with the OAI-sys leadership team and the OAI-sys Business Analytic Team to determine how information and analytic solutions can be leveraged to support business strategies, capabilities, and processes.
This position is part of an overarching infrastructure strategy initiative to utilize information to improve decision-making at all levels within the infrastructure organization, quantify value creation through infrastructure delivery and improve information transparency with the Travelers businesses. The primary responsibility is to develop and shape the overall OAI-sys business intelligence strategy, manage demand for data services, manage off-shore relationships, and actively manage the business intelligence portfolio. This is a hands-on leadership role.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Work with Business Analytics and project teams to deliver infrastructure analytics.
Develop end to end data management processes based upon industry best practices and pragmatism.
Work with Data Analysts on the data formulation process which may include identification of attributes, exploratory data analysis, data transformation, and data presentation.
Consult with Business Analysts and Business Process Owners to review expected outputs, the applicability to business challenges, and model measurement.
Advises, coaches and works with Line of Business Managers and IT Executives as they:
Identify opportunities, establish priorities, and set targets analytics initiatives.
Monitor, manage and realize benefits from analytics initiatives.
Coordinate analytics and reporting activities with other lines of business.
Build analytical capability and culture inside their organizations.
Assess and improve their organizations' decision-making methods.
Assess and improve their organizations' information and technology environments for analytics.
Manage data quality and implement appropriate changes to systems or process to correct any data quality problems encountered.
Design, develop, and deliver presentations, education, and training to business and technical partners. Help customers interpret data and KPIs to manage daily operations.
Present analysis and recommendations to diverse stakeholder groups.
Remain abreast of applicable industry trends and best practices.
Oversee vendor resources, matrixed team members who conduct reporting across the organization, and direct staff.

Provides strategic oversight and implementation approaches for data capture through delivery aligning with strategic business data principles and roadmaps
Develops and implements appropriate data governance policies and ensures compliance
Focuses on driving the business and IT organizations to deliver data solutions that balance the needs for operational efficiency and granular data needs required for innovative analytics.
Provides data subject matter expertise to business and IT organizations
Oversees building of strategic model solutions including transformation logic, rules, tables and attribute relationships.
Consistently generates new ideas and promotes data management vision
