Responsibilities

This position requires the ability to manage end-to-end hardware development including mechanical, electrical, low-level firmware, quality and system board bring up. The Director will be responsible for:
Leading the teams that perform the mechanical and electrical design of connected home networking hardware device
Managing the technical relationships with key silicon partners and various component suppliers
Working with external mechanical and industrial design teams to facilitate the design of new devices
Collaborating with software team on their development of firmware, OS, and applications for the products
Ensuring the successful completion of quality and reliability testing of the product
Successfully transferring the product design over to ODM for high-volume manufacturing

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with advanced degree preferred
At least 10 years of experience in technical product development with at least 5 years of system experience in Consumer Hardware or Networking industry
Demonstrated ability to take products from concept into high-volume manufacturing
Hands-on hardware development and validation experience
Extensive technical knowledge in silicon and systems architecture
Experience with system design and simulation tools and design practices.
Must be a strong leader and decision maker as well as communicate effectively through all levels of an organization, including senior executives.
Strong business acumen and knowledge of the product development ecosystem including experience with third party contacts/licensing and business development.
Ability to lead and coach managers and/or individual contributors
