Director - Strategic Sales - National Oilwell Varco - Houston
Job Description
DDS is looking for a Strategic Director of Sales - a talented, dynamic and consultative seller- to lead sales and account growth on strategic accounts in Houston and the US. Though local sales will report through the local area managers there is a need for a focus on Houston and other strategic accounts. Those accounts that operate around the US and other countries will require a different level of strategy.
All of Houston sales will report to this person. A few other individuals around the US may report into this person depending on accounts. This person is to drive strategies with their team but also with local area managers for accounts that fall under those local web address removed> position is based out of our Houston Eldridge Office.
Responsibilities:
Drive revenue for all accounts
Cultivate and own senior level client relationships; schedule senior level meetings as required
Create comprehensive account development plans and strategies to facilitate long-term growth Identify and grow relationships with key decision makers
Prospect and break new business
Leverage NOV intercompany contacts to generate business and cultivate deep relationships at all levels through focused client meetings, calls, and client centric entertainment activities
Collaborate with senior management and advocate for client needs
Meet and exceed quarterly sales goals
Represent DDS core values
Represent DDS at industry conferences and events
Develop and drive strategy for customer accounts that cross local and international boundaries; coordinate with local sales and operations teams to ensure a unified approach
Work with the Customer Experience team to identify strategies for building stronger customer relationships that will ensure customers are excited to do business with us again and again
Work directly with Services and Systems Sales Leads and Project Managers to advance opportunities, pull through additional revenue, and resolve problems/issues
Hire, train and equip a sales team capable of: building strong customer relationships at all levels of our customers business, prospecting for new opportunities, presenting solutions that will meet customer needs, closing new business, and sustaining strong relationships with customers
Assist in and coordinate the development of weekly, monthly, and annual goals for each of the sales team members.
10 years of sales and client management experience within the oil and Gas industry. ( Drilling Side)
Executive level relationships established within the operators and drilling contractors in the oil and gas industry.
Demonstrated experience selling
Experience working in a start-up environment
Ability to strategically sell and lead all aspects of complex deals
Can present and manage an account review meeting
Demonstrated track record of delivering against quota and excelling in a highly competitive market
Excellent knowledge of industry trends, technologies and pricing models
Passion for generating new business, hitting sales goals, and developing and building deep client relationships
Customer-focused leadership with excellent communication, networking, and demonstrated negotiation and consultative solution selling skills
Excellent listening and presentation skills
Strong time management skills; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, )
Ability to think strategically
Exceptional relationship building skills
Organized and results-oriented
Demonstrated ability to develop other sales representatives who will thrive in this very competitive environment
Cross functional leadership skills with the ability to bring a team together from different groups and disciplines with no formal authority to develop and advance a unified strategy for meeting customer needs; ability to get strategic sales team to do the same
Preferred Experience:
Understanding of ROI and basic marketing concepts
Active in industry trade and networking events
Experience working with customers on the rig and in the office
Basic understanding of drilling optimization concepts, tools and associated key performance indicators
Basic understanding of drilling instrumentation (surface and downhole), data aggregation, and subsequent E&P data driven needs
