Director- Managed Account Strategy - Fidelity Investments - Boston


Job description
Purpose and Objective

The Director will lead strategy and analysis projects for the Fidelity Managed Accounts (MA) business, with a focus on supporting the creation of multi-year strategic roadmap, as well as the development of new capabilities in customer profiling, multi-account management and a unified managed household offering. The Director will be responsible for gathering and synthesizing business and competitive data from across the organization and the marketplace, coordinating the workflows and delivery of key projects, and developing key communications and presentations to business partners and executive leadership.
This position requires strong analytical and planning skills, as well as collaboration with internal Fidelity partners - particularly Managed Accounts Product Management, MA Product Development, Strategic Advisers Inc., the Customer Knowledge Center, Legal and Distribution.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Director will support the Vice President, Managed Account Strategy, and will have the following responsibilities:

Support the development of a strategic roadmap for the Fidelity managed accounts business, based on an analysis both of external market trends and opportunities, as well as internal capabilities, historical business data and multi-year plan goals and metrics.
Lead the development of communications and presentations to socialize the managed accounts business strategy and support its execution.
Support the development of a multi-goal financial planning capability, in partnership with Strategic Advisers and other Managed Accounts business partners
Monitor the managed accounts competitive landscape by identifying key business trends and opportunities, and incorporate those findings into business plans, as well as share them proactively and with key business partners across MA team and Fidelity.

Desired Skills and Experience
Education and Experience:
BS and a minimum of 10 years of financial services experience, or MBA with 5-10 years financial services experience.
Management consulting experience, especially in Financial Services, is a major plus.


Skills and Knowledge:

Strategic thinking— understand customer and business partner needs and prior learnings to inform strategic direction and ongoing decision making
Strong strategic planning background — ability to develop and communicate clear business objectives, product development direction and investment plans to deliver business results
Experience in financial industry competitive analysis
Solid project management skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize
Good business judgment — ability to direct efforts on key business priorities, think holistically, leverage business partners and focus on return on investment
Financial services background, especially in managed accounts, financial planning or professional advisory
Results-oriented; proven track record of managing activities and budgets toward results
Effective communicator (written and oral) - persuasive presenter and sales person
Able to work in fast paced environment and grasp new concepts quickly
