Senior Director - Sales - ESPN - Chicago

Job description

Responsibilities
Manage Sales Department, including, NSM, LSM, DSM, Traffic and Continuity Managers, AE’s and Sales Assistant
Train, hold accountable, and motivate all members of the sales department
Responsible to Recruiting and Hiring Account Executives and maintaining a full staff
Budgeting and Forecasting which includes Revenue for the entire station, digital platform, and expenses for the Sales Department
Focus on driving multi-platform programs

Take full advantage of the assets of ESPN
Strategic Planning
Maintain Account Management System
Must have a consistent focus on Diversity and Inclusion as a company priority
Management of Traffic and Continuity Department
Inventory Management, both on-air and on-line
Approving all Sales Orders in radio and digital
Management of Accounts Receivable Aging
Plans and Develops all Sales Packages and initiatives
Responsible for dealing with non-performing staff in tandem with HR
Must lead sales staff and motivate a diverse group to attain both the station’s radio and digital revenue goals
Must project sales for the station and digital platform and marketplace through an intimate knowledge of the local market trends
Accountable for meeting or exceeding all Sales Revenue Budges
Accountable for Increasing Market Share
Interacts with executives and managers at all levels on issues regarding the sales department and all revenue related issues
Interacts with ESPN O&O GSM and Network Account Executives

Basic Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of the digital space
Some business travel
Minimum of 3 years Major Market Radio Management Experience

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Marketron, Nielsen, Scarborough, Tapscan and Digital measurement systems

Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree
