Director - Wireless Engineering - Shentel - Edinburg

Job description
Directs and coordinates activities of the Wireless Engineering Department to design, engineer and optimize CDMA, EVDO, and LTE networks.

Design, engineer and improve the performance of CDMA, EVDO, and LTE networks.
Design, engineer and improve the performance of voice switching infrastructure, core EVDO equipment, and core LTE equipment.
Develop test procedures for new site configurations such as multi-carrier high power (boomer) cells and in-building solutions.

Supervise the monitoring, trending and forecasting of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) of all existing CDMA, EVDO, and LTE sites. This includes maintaining the dropped and blocked call percentages below 2%.
Confer with management and sales/marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
Advise management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations.
Observes company safety procedures at all times.
Demonstrates and holds employees accountable for stewardship of the brand to include embodiment of the Shentel Way by ensuring appropriate use of the brand (name, logo, company, appearance, and attitude) within their respective team and organization.
Forecast capital budget and operating costs of the department

Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field is required
15 or more years RF Engineering experience is required
10 or more years of management experience is required
Ability to make presentations clearly to management and audiences without engineering experience
Ability to negotiate agreements with vendors and contractors fro engineering projects
Detail oriented and strong organizational skills; ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
