Director - Marketing SaaS - Thomson Reuters - Dallas
Job description
The Director of Marketing will contribute to the delivery of the Thomson Reuters business objectives by providing strategic Marketing solutions to develop the Indirect Tax & Property businesses and build customer satisfaction and loyalty. This person will help architect the customer experience by designing, coordinating, executing and measuring the effectiveness of compelling strategic marketing activities for one or more complex, vertical business while ensuring all marketing activities are integrated and aligned on a worldwide basis.
The Responsibilities for the Director of Marketing include:
Understand the buying process and all the key personas for the business unit (buyers, users, influencers). Develop value proposition and messaging for each persona.
Create and implement new messaging & positioning for overall product offering and develop strategic marketing plans through market research, competitive analysis, pricing, customer engagement, and business planning to support new messaging.
Implement a content strategy that is targeted to the customers/prospects based on their stage in the lifecycle.
Lead planning, implementation and measurement of the success of specific marketing deliverables for the indirect tax & property tax business units.
Create and lead the long-term strategic marketing vision that requires in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives and strategies.
Leverage all marketing channels to drive qualified leads for the sales pipeline. Demonstrate lead progression in the funnel based on marketing activity.
Ensure Marketing Program deliverables demonstrate value and a return on investment, meet our customer’s strategic requirements and Thomson Reuters quality standards, including brand guidelines.
Collaborate with regions to ensure the most effective marketing campaigns are running for the indirect tax business.
Monitors all aspects of key competitors, analyzing their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
Develop go-to-market plans with 3rd Party partners develop to impact sales and market perception.
Collaborate with business leadership team to indentify and assess new markets to penetrate, globally.
Develop/promote marketing best practice across SBU or other Marketing teams and encourage greater interaction/dialogue between SBU, Sales and other Marketing teams.

Desired Skills and Experience
Must have strong and savvy marketing experience with Cloud based, SaaS technology
Broad Global Marketing perspective / understanding of how marketing can benefit Thomson Reuters business in order to set industry and business precedents and stay ahead of the competition.
Must have proven experience of delivering strong, influential communications materials and ability to deliver complex analyses (could be internal/external) on behalf of an organization.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to provide thought leadership and influence others.
Excellent organizational / project management skills working with multiple groups across geographies and cultures.
Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships externally (Customers and prospects, trade associations, academic, vendors and Strategic Partners) and internal colleagues across Thomson Reuters: SBU Management teams; Central Marketing Management Team; GSCS Management Team, Marketing Operations, Commercials Groups, Sales and Finance.
Substantial experience in marketing, participating on analytic teams in market research and database marketing and analysis, spanning industry, marketplace, customers and competition.
Experience in working on large projects in a complex, loose matrix organization.
Previous experience managing marketing teams.
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred. 7 -10 years of strategic marketing experience
