Director - TV Public Relations - DreamWorks Animation - Los Angeles
Job description
The Director, Public Relations TV will manage DreamWorks Animation’s global public relations efforts for all TV properties, working as part of the studio’s larger public relations team and acting as liaison for network, agency and digital partners.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for the management and implementation of DWA’s Television media relations strategies; serve as a point person in responding to inquiries from media and press.
Build and manage relationships with internal TV talent and execs as well as media contacts, including kids, media, TV, technology, parenting, education and business press, across a variety of media – print, online, television, broadcast, cable working to position DWA as an innovative and a trusted source of high-quality content for children and families.
Manage partnerships with international networks airing DWA content including development of PR tool kits.
Serve as the day to day publicity liaison with our distribution partner.
Work collaboratively with the larger DWA public relations department to align all messaging from a brand perspective.
Develop innovative and strategic public relations plans that can be implemented on a global basis covering tactics for both launch as well as sustained interest over the period of the show.
Stay on the pulse of the digital and family entertainment landscape, developing and maintaining talking points and updated facts to support DWA positioning within the larger television landscape
Manage DWA TV communications across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and blogs.
Work as part of the team to build and implement the DWA presence at industry specific events and award shows representing TV and digital content for families.
Assist in the management of speaking opportunities for DWA TV Executives.
Qualifications:
6+ years of related experience, with at least 4 years of managing public relations campaigns and strategy, media relations and social media.
Prior experience in the media industry working on Television PR Campaigns, ideally with meaningful experience in international markets and global programming launches.
In-depth understanding of the digital content landscape
Experience creating compelling press materials, supporting executive speaking outreach and speech development, and developing other communications resources
Ability to effectively manage relationships with key journalists and develop engaging social media campaigns to reach our target audience.
A team player that can manage multiple projects with internal teams and outside PR agencies
Ability to travel to events and conferences.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
