Director - Planning - Victoria's Secret - Reynoldsburg


Job description
The Director of Merchandise Planning is responsible for demand planning of all brands and sub-brands for Victoria's Secret PINK. The Director serves as the key liaison between Marketing, Finance, Merchants, Store Operations, and Sourcing / Manufacturing, Demand Planning in the development of the plans (volume / markdowns, IMU, MMU, receipts, and inventory) to achieve agreed upon financial targets for specified books of business. The Director manages the short term merchandise planning and allocation for these businesses which may require analyzing current business trend, market data and feedback, historical data and recommending course corrections and improvements based on these assessments.
The Director coordinates with the Merchandise Strategy group relative to the long term plan. The Director reports to the Senior Vice President of Merchandise Planning and Allocation and directs Planning Managers, Planners, and Deployment Analysts. Must possess the ability to:

*Ensure the plan developed meets category targets and the financial strategy pursued is consistent with the brand growth plan for the businesses for which they are accountable. Responsible for delivering assortment plan consistent with this
*Oversee the development, analysis, and revision of category plans for sales, margin realization, inventory and profit
*Review opportunities and risks associated with the business- current financial position and actual performance
*Build consensus on forecasts for the businesses for which they are accountable (revenue, margin realization, receipts, and inventory)
*Oversee and approve financial plan for merchandise selection, distortion, exit of their businesses
*Responsible for assessing impact of price change and event
*Responsible for coordination of all exit strategies for discontinued items
*Responsible for assessing price position relative to top line and margin realization in keeping with category positioning


*Eight to ten years of financial planning or financial analysis experience
*Three to five years of merchandise planning, demand planning, replenishment experience
*Minimum ten years of multi-store planning, distribution, replenishment experience
*Merchant or merchandising experience a plus
*Proven supervisory experience
*Excellent communication and influencing skills
*Demonstrated partnership and relationship building skills
*Demonstrated business acumen
*Creative problem solving skills, strategic thinking, and analytical skills
*Facile with various forecasting methodologies and statistical modeling
*Proficient to advanced computer literacy
*Proficient in relevant planning, allocation, replenishment, analytical, data management, and financial systems
*Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Operations, preferred
*Advanced degree in Quantitative Analysis, Finance, and / or Business Administration preferred
