Job description
McGraw-Hill School Education (MHSE), the leading provider of educational materials for Grades PreK-12, has an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Director of Marketing , located in New York, NY. This high visibility position will lead the marketing efforts for Reading Wonders , our Elementary Reading suite of products, manage a team of 5 marketing professionals, and ensure that we are developing and positioning the best programs for the market. You will ensure the success and adoption of our products as they go to market, be an advocate for the voice of the customer, drive for business decisions throughout the product lifecycle, and foster collaboration with key stakeholder groups.
We are searching for a strategic, innovative thinker experienced in marketing reading/ ELA products, building & developing teams, and a proven ability to motivate & lead groups and stakeholders to a shared vision. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and marketing and get excited about supporting the digital transformation of a market-leading company.
Responsibilities
Set a clear direction for the team, prioritize the work, coach for performance, and remove obstacles
Ensure the voice of the customer and market trends are always represented in our product decisions
Act as the champion for Reading Wonders within the organization - advocating for the programs internally and in customer-facing events
Lead marketing efforts across the marketing mix - including product design (components, labelling, covers, etc), product positioning, bundling and pricing, promotion & sales enablement
Make data-driven decisions and recommendations around market segmentation, product attributes, and marketing plans
Drive revenue through strategic market planning, creative solutioning and perfect execution
Drive to good business decisions, and support the management of the portfolio P&L by ensuring we are driving to top & bottom line targets
Lead efforts to understand the competitive landscape and provide competitive differentiation through sales support and the development of product plans

Required Experience
• 5+ years in ed tech or education service marketing (ELA experience preferred)
• 5+ years managing & developing individual contributors
• 5+ years relevant marketing experience - with experience in positioning/messaging/branding, marketing communications and pricing
• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Psychology, Business or related field
• MBA Preferred
