Job description
The Senior Director Demand Flow – Deployment will work closely with the executive leadership of the company and will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for the E2E Supply Chain organization in EMA North America. He/she directs and fosters an environment of repeatable processes, best practice technology application, world class performance and metrics, a continuous improvement plan and development of a strong team. The role provides direction and oversight for strategic distributor partnerships, distribution centers, surge facility, and sales fulfillment operations.
The Senior Director Demand Flow – Deployment/develops the strategy, plans, and is ultimately responsible for managing all transportation and warehousing activities. This support ranges from, proposing new processes and systems, analyzing new opportunities to utilize technology to support business functions, and providing business analytics to the client community supporting existing applications and interfaces. It includes the development of decision-ready proposals leveraging in-house applications and resources in addition to external service providers and applications. The Senior Director Demand Flow – Deployment has full responsibility for up-line management communications. This position requires travel domestically and internationally.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Meets the transportation and warehousing needs for finished goods and parts of the E2E Supply Chain organization for the EMA North America logistics organization. This ranges from maintaining day-to-day operations to design and engineering of new systems.
Works with Senior Management to develop business plans recommending short and long-range objectives, which are consistent with organization guidelines and designed to develop a continuously growing stream of revenue and profit.
Executes new product launches, expansions, and matured products through collaboration between Sales, Brands, and Product Line initiatives in collaboration with Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP).
Maintains an integral partnership with business partners and collaborates with the team to develop optimal solutions to support business needs. Essential in providing leadership and assistance to the business community while developing comprehensive and optimal solutions.
Identifies new and emerging technologies and enhances existing processes designed to stimulate a competitive advantage in supporting the new and existing business functions.
Develops and maintains executive dashboard of key metrics including joint ownership for system wide inventory and related NOWC goals.
Predicts cost of goods shipments, tracks budgets, deliverables, and support requirements to ensure profitability, and assumes full profit and loss responsibility.
Coordinates application development for new warehouse/ distribution and automation systems, EDI and Shipment Tracking as well as Financial Supply Chain applications.
Oversees the recruitment and retention of key personnel.
Maintains a highly competent staff supporting the department’s primary systems and process responsibilities: Warehousing & Distribution; Domestic and International, Automation Control Systems in Distribution Centers, Financial Supply Chain and Audit Systems, Domestic Freight Audit and Payment Systems, Shipment Tracking Systems, ASN Systems, Merchandise Marking Systems, EDI (customer, vendor/supplier, third parties), KPI-Systems for Logistics (VNC/ VIP etc.)
Oversees the development of training for management and end users for new and existing applications.
Establishes and maintains continuous communications across the organization.
Participates in the development of Strategic IT planning.
He/she prepares in cooperation with the relevant business partners budgets and related financial documents and is responsible for attaining a high ROI on new projects.
Stays abreast of current trends and developments in technology for processes, business and standards’ requirements.
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelors Degree in engineering or business field is required. Graduate Degree in Business (MBA) is preferred.
Ten plus years of Supply Chain related leadership experience in a complex high volume manufacturing environment in Warehousing and Distribution, Automation Controls, Merchandise Marking, Logistics, Finance Supply Chain and EDI environment. Preferably in a consumer goods, high velocity, and multi-site, complex portfolio organization.
Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing– specifically pull material flow/Kanban and knowledge of MRP, DRP, MPS, or other scheduling tools.
Must have experience with Distribution/warehouse/third party product delivery and operation of a plant with distribution and be able to analyze our current distribution map and make suggestions/changes.
Proven experience with successfully designing and implementation of systems to support highly automated distribution facilities.
Previous experience in developing transaction-based and high speed warehouse automation systems, programming and implementation of Logistics systems.
Demonstrated experience in building strong relationships with the business.
Experience in the international environment; ideally has worked abroad.
Minimal (20% - 30%) travel is required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
Sound understanding of various transactional systems (FOCUS, JDE), SAS and processes being used by Sales and operations teams
