Director - Cloud Platform Engineering - Nike - Portland
Job description
As the Director of Cloud Platform Engineering, you’ll bring the passion and experience of a leader dedicated to building high performance engineering teams. Your team will be responsible for enabling a culture of DevOps throughout Nike’s engineering organization through the creation of a continuous delivery tool chain and process as well as engineering focused infrastructure as a service. You’ll have demonstrated software engineering experience in your past, and be able to participate at all levels from technical architecture and design to communicating clearly with members of both the technical and business leadership.

Desired Skills and Experience
Required Skills:
5-8 years of experience with Java, Groovy, or equivalent
Direct experience with deploying software into an IaaS (AWS, etc.)
Direct experience scaling services in an IaaS (AWS, etc.)
Ability to participate in technical architecture, technology, and implementation discussions
Ability to lead and grow a team of 15-20 engineers
Manage and provide transparency to commitments (scope, cost, schedule) and risks
Manage supporting software and infrastructure vendors to financial and technical commitments
Work effectively across teams and organizations as the owner of a foundational dependency
Desired:
Bachelor’s Computer Science or equivalent industry experience (15+ years)
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in written form
Ability to pass a standard seven year background check
