Director - Sales - Latin America - Murad - Los Angeles

General Description:
The role of the Sales Director is to optimize Murad’s international distributor network by evaluating our existing base with the goal of maximizing penetration and increasing sales in a significant way. In cases where existing networks will be retained, the Sales Director will be responsible for not only supporting and maintaining the existing business but also rapidly growing sales to meet ownership expectations. In the case of a new market (or a market with a distributor that will be eliminated), the Sales Director will identify, conduct due diligence and develop distribution opportunities for the VP of International to review.
Primary Functions:
Develop annual budgets/forecasts per country and then execute on sales programs with new and existing distributors to ensure expectations are met or exceeded.
Continuously monitor the performance of each country and with such information combined with international market trends, adjust sales strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions in each region.
Collaborate with the team on the development of regional product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategies to produce the highest possible long-term international market share.
Provide updated monthly forecast of business to allow for JIT inventory management.
Review quarterly and annual marketing plan for assigned territory. Provide complete business review, development of alternative/ contingency plans, and overall strategy for the Area.
Review major consumer promotions and trade programs with direct reports designed to gain volume and profits. Adjust sales & marketing programs to the needs of the market place.
Maintain ongoing communication with direct reports and distributors and corporate marketing to learn about changing market conditions and modify promotion programs to support market changes.
Monitor the Coop Budget and collateral allocations for your territory.
Manage and control all lines of the regional P&L, and informed on a regular basis the US for any changes vs. budget.
Objectives:
Work with distributors to meet Business Plan
Work closer with selective number of distributors that initiate Murad stand alone stores and department store counters in some key markets
Develop Territory Markets by expanding our distribution coverage.
Work with International Marketing Director for all major domestic promotions and launches to ensure Territory needs are accounted for so as not to duplicate marketing spent and time. This is an on-going objective.
Work with the International Regulatory Coordinator on all the products certificates and registration documents to be able to speed up the opening countries process.

Planning and Analysis Skills: Understands timing and financial constraints of brand initiatives. Initiates activities with thorough financial and business analysis with sufficient lead time to successfully deliver results. Analyze data, and develop fact-based recommendations that are a result of the analysis.
Priority Setting: Ability to prioritize among competing tasks based on opportunity, urgency and management directions.
People Development: Cultivate team effort in achieving results. Empower members in the team to achieve SMART goals. Develop direct reports to take on more challenging assignments and plan for their career development and advancement.
Problem Solving: Ability to quickly identify the source of any problems that occur, and develop alternatives and a recommendation to resolve the issue.
Education and Experience:
Must have already a strong Sales experience over 7 years in the skincare Industry in Territory.
Previous experience working with distributors will be appreciated
Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred.
Special Physical Requirements:
Must be able to travel by all means of transportation i.e. car, bus, plane, train.
Travel will be 40 to 60% of time
