Job description
Provide strategic direction to the Office of Global Services (formerly the Office of International Students and Scholars). Determine all office-wide performance and measurement standards, deployment of human and physical resources, and development and evaluation of policies and procedures regarding immigration and global mobility services for the NYU global network. Create and manage the University's 'Immigration and Mobility Message' for all internal and external communications. Collaborate with schools, the Provost's Office, and portal campuses. Direct the development of training programs, resources and organizational talent. Responsible for executing a strategic, innovative and client focused global mobility program that will provide solution oriented, customer-focused mobility services.
Desired Skills and Experience
Excellent communication and planning skills. Ability to interact with a large, diverse population. Knowledge of the immigration and visa process including industry and academic standards that govern international education programs. The ability to evaluate, critique and advise on global international assignment management and advise on best practices in order to protect NYU's globally mobile community. Ability to work with colleagues across cultures and regions and a robust customer service ethic. Computer skills including Microsoft Office, report writing and SIS.
Minimum of 12 years progressively responsible professional experience with immigration services and advisement or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience with development and implementation of immigration advisement programs and large staff management.
Worldwide Employee Relocation Council Global Mobility Specialist (GMS) Designation a plus.
Knowledge of expatriate compensation and tax.
Doctorate degree in higher education administration, international education, or related field.
Master's degree in higher education administration, counseling, international education, or related field.
