Director - International Market Development - ecoATM - San Diego


Job description
In this role, you will lead ecoATM’s international expansion effort, including market analysis, business planning, partnership development, market tests and production rollouts. ecoATM is currently in mass production rollout in the USA and the program is mature enough to consider expansion into other markets. This exciting role will begin with a comprehensive analysis of worldwide markets and support development of market tests in select countries to learn consumer behavior and product requirements. The role will also explore and develop various business model opportunities, including potential partnership development. Extensive travel will be required toward developing international markets and partners. You will report directly to the VP of Business Development for the ecoATM line of business, and be a key member of the leadership team. This position based in San Diego (Sorrento Valley area).

Key Responsibilities
• Create and implement an international business plan leveraging Outerwall resources and leadership, including detailed site selection and specific market development execution
• Deliver market analysis and test plans against ecoATM International expansion targets
• Manage business relationships both internal and external to meet market test objectives
• Manage all international partners and partnership inquiries

• Cultivate senior management business relationships with retail channel partners
• Regularly review progress against development targets and adjust where needed to achieve annual goals
• Liaison with internal shared service owners when appropriate for execution, i.e. legal, deployment, accounting.

Desired Skills and Experience
Education & Experience
• Proven track record developing international markets, both direct and via partnerships. Must demonstrate strong business acumen and business planning skills, including ability to gather data and effectively communicate back on market dynamics, competition, target landscape, pipeline, etc.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in new business development, with at least 5+ years in international business development
• Leadership experience, including managing international and cross functional teams with proven ability to lead, own and drive results
• Experience in a fast-paced, high growth, environment
• Previous experience with large account, complex B2B sales; experience working with large retailers, mobile phones and/or carriers a plus
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required, MBA degree preferred
• Exceptional level of customer understanding, consumer insights, financial acumen, sales systems, consultative selling, and presentation skills
