Job description
POSITION SUMMARY
Aetna Compliance & Regulatory Affairs is seeking an experienced pharmacy expert to serve as Business Compliance Officer for Aetna Pharmacy Management. The individual will collaborate with colleagues in the business, compliance and the law department to ensure Aetna Pharmacy Managements programs and operations are conducted in accordance with applicable laws and our Code of Conduct.

Fundamental Components:
The Business Compliance Officer will:
Be the single point of contact for Compliance for Aetna Pharmacy Management, combining expertise in regulatory issues and risks with a deep knowledge of the pharmacy business.
Partner with the senior management team to advise them on compliance risks and keep them informed of any issues and their resolution while helping to develop corrective action plans when necessary.

Manage the activities of the Pharmacy Compliance team.
Serve as the single point of contact for Aetna Pharmacy Management for other colleagues in Compliance & Regulatory Affairs by, for example, assisting in responses to regulatory examinations and investigating compliance concerns raised by employees.
Identify, assess and assist Aetna Pharmacy Management in resolving compliance gaps.
Participate in enterprise compliance initiatives, such as risk assessment, compliance scorecards and training programs.
Report on and escalate issues as appropriate to senior management in compliance and the business.

Required Skills:
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:
Leadership and team development
5+ years of experience in a regulatory compliance position in healthcare, insurance or financial services.
5+ years of experience in pharmacy business and benefits, including knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels of the company

EDUCATION
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

This is a director level position in Aetna's Compliance & Regulatory Affairs department. The Pharmacy Business Compliance Officer will work closely with senior leaders in the business, advising them on compliance risks and mitigation strategies. The position supports a critical business unit serving more than 13 million members in plans accross the country, making the Pharmacy Business Compliance Officer a high-profile position internally and externally.
