Job description
The Senior Director of IT has overall responsibility for all aspects of OpenDNS’ internal technology and business systems functions. This professional provides the vision and direction for technology and systems that enables OpenDNS to achieve its strategic and business objectives. This person is responsible for the governance of information technology and the coordination of technical solutions between all departments and the IT organization. He/She develops and drives technical initiatives linked to business strategy through a demonstrated ability to use broad-based business information and knowledge. This position will have a primary focus on data integrity and all of it’s uses.

The Senior Director of IT will be responsible for leading OpenDNS technology and business systems initiatives including the planning, development, and implementation of the organization’s hardware and software systems that support the business as well as directing and scaling a Cloud/Mobile first technology environment centered around OpenDNS’ Enterprise Security Platform.

The successful candidate will be self- motivated, results driven and will have a broad technical background but, more importantly, will be a strong operational executive as well as a strong leader and builder of high-performing teams



Responsibilities:
Lead the Information Technology organization supporting the company
Optimize our current suite of internal cloud products and build the appropriate IT infrastructure to accommodate that optimization
Responsible for all non-customer facing infrastructures including: telephony, disaster recovery, preventive maintenance, local and wide area networks, servers and hardware, storage, and Internet access
Establish a culture of customer focus and delivering excellence
Establish key SLAs to measure and improve service performance metrics
Develop efficient processes across the department and lead/drive a balanced scaling effort which includes outsourcing and other methods to provide high quality, cost efficient services to the business
Accountable for ensuring that investments in technology are appropriate to the developments in the industry & that these investments produce appropriate high return

Desired Skills and Experience
10+ years of experience in information technology, preferably with a focus on internal IT strategies and execution
Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate across organizations to optimize outcomes
5+ years negotiating and developing partnerships with external vendors/ suppliers. Expertise managing outsourcing services agreement including design and tracking of Service Level Agreements (SLAs); experience developing and tracking IT metrics.
Strong knowledge of business case development including cost/benefit analysis, NPV, current and future state assessment
Experience working with business leaders and product development leaders and will have a strong understanding of their infrastructure needs and how they operate
Broad current knowledge of business technology applications, current trends in IT, and experience in filtering out redundant business systems
Experience managing an IT Project Portfolio in a primarily SaaS-based environment
Successful history developing and administering change management, incident response and problem management processes
Has run both IT and Business Systems

Desirable, Not Required:
Experience with SaaS companies and/or Saas applications
Understanding of and preferably implementation experience with governance/compliance frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, SOC 2, PCI, etc.
Built a disaster recovery plan
Has worked for a SaaS company
Has worked at a startup
