Job description
Is responsible for managing people, hiring, firing, performance reviews, compensation, and determining promotions. Is responsible for ensuring the execution of specific strategic functions and implementing high-end, business-wide, critical strategy.

Provides guidance, planning and direction for business unit(s), maintains budgets and proactively allocates resources and time for the business units or functions supported.

Performs additional job duties as required. Provides leadership across well-defined and homogeneous teams with moderate degrees of complexity.

Requires 10+ years of related technical and business experience. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience and/or Certifications.


Desired Skills and Experience
• 10+ years IT experience

• Has expert knowledge of IT functions, practices and business units. Has strong expertise in software systems and in the functions and business units supported. Has strong knowledge of emerging technologies.

• Expert with multiple languages and tools. Possesses broad based and in-depth knowledge of complex technologies, tools, methodologies, the software industry.

• Strong understanding of how technology relates to business, market and industry and applies knowledge to support the needs of critical systems and projects.

• Works on complex systems and project issues with senior IT management.

• Works with senior management to define and develop technology strategy. Independently works with functional and business units to execute strategy.

• Demonstrates strong leadership with senior management. Coaches and leads other IT managers and business managers.

• Strong communications and inter and intra company supplier relationships

• Experience in managing SaaS and Cloud-based computing platforms

• Preference for Agile development planning over Waterfall, but with experience and comfort level in both

• Experience in managing internet-facing digital properties

• Advanced experience in managing Java-based systems
