POSITION SUMMARY
The Sr. Director, IT International is a critical member of both the International and Corporate IT Leadership teams. The incumbent will partner with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and our President, International to lead all IT strategy and direction outside the U.S. and partner with in-country resources to ensure effective execution in support of ongoing business operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Assess, benchmark and make recommendations for near term improvements for the IT infrastructure and systems to support the international growth strategy. Review the performance of existing International IT systems to determine operating costs, productivity levels, and upgrade requirements.
Formulate longer term strategic plans for deploying technology to enable to secure growth of the International businesses.
Direct research on potential technology solutions.
Provide functional oversight to the IT implementations in support of new initiatives.
Oversee the selection of critical business software (e.g. POS, Financial, Supply Chain, etc.) and necessary hardware, network, and third party resources to support each operation
Ensures that all equity markets are ‘secure’ & ‘maintain security’ regarding Payment Card Industry (PCI) & Personal Identifiable Information (PII) standards, as well as cyber security in general terms
Direct the IT teams in the markets to ensure that the IT Operations within each country are organized and staffed appropriately to achieve growth goals and operational stability
Provide coaching, direction and functional leadership to team members assigned to the International IT team

Leverage Bloomin Brands technology assets, including those for applications, infrastructure, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision for various International IT organizations.
Stay current with technology trends and the International IT Landscape.
Build relationships and collaborate with international operations teams to recognize business issues and propose solutions using technology (when appropriate)

Desired Skills and Experience
REQUIREMENTS

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience
Master’s degree in either of these fields or Master of Business Administration with technology as a core component preferred

Travel:
Ability to travel internationally up to 50%, as requirements dictate

Experience/Skills:
Minimum of 12 years of progressive IT experience with at least 3 years directly related to international IT
Minimum of 6 years of leadership experience in managing cross functional teams and direct management of team members internationally
International experience in one or more countries, preference to Latin/South America and Asia/Pac regions
Experience in the Retail industry, with preference to Casual Dining or Quick Service environments required
Proven experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning and development, project management, and policy development
Must have a firm understanding of PCI-DSS compliance standards
Ability to coordinate and drive IT Operations without direct authority over the staff
Strong understanding and technical knowledge of current network and PC operating systems, hardware, protocols, and standards, including restaurant-specific hardware and applications
Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management
Demonstrated ability to apply technology in solving business problems
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in various countries as they relate to IT
Exceptional communication skills –ability to explain complex Information Technology concepts to non-technical staff, Executive Leadership Team and Board members
Strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures
