Senior Director - Global Sales Learning & Development - Kellogg - New York

POSITION SCOPE:
With company-wide scope, this role will lead an international team focused on creating market-leading, business-oriented learning solutions that effectively and efficiently train and develop Kellogg’s salesforce globally. Reporting directly to the SVP, Global Sales, the Senior Director, Global Sales Learning & Development will lead the Global Sales Learning Council and be a critical member of the Global Sales Leadership Team. The successful candidate will provide the overall strategic direction for learning and development for the sales function globally, ensuring alignment of the sales learning strategy to the corporate vision and purpose.
Initially this role will lead the creation of the newly formed Global Sales Learning & Development team. The focus of this team’s deliverables will be to centrally develop curriculum and training that will be implemented globally to ensure consistency while remaining flexible for local relevancy. These learning solutions will be delivered via a variety of methods including e-Learning, “Train the Trainer”, Instructor-led content, etc. The Senior Director, Global Sales Learning & Development will then lead the team in the design, implementation and management of all global projects that support the overall sales learning strategy. The company has made a significant investment in the training and development of its global salesforce including building a state of the art training facility at the global headquarters located in Battle Creek, MI. This role will include leading a global team of 22-25 internal employees plus multiple vendors and off shore resources to develop, deliver, and manage learning solutions and technologies.



RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the design and implementation of the Global Sales Learning Strategy
Leads the Global Sales Learning & Development team including International Sales Capability resources as indirect reports
Key internal customers include US and International Sales VP and SVPs.
Partner with Sales Leaders globally to ensure strong alignment of all Global Sales Learning & Development strategies and implementation plans designed to support critical business initiatives
Build strong relationships with Human Resources, relevant Subject Matter Experts, and Key Business Stakeholders company-wide to ensure that deliverables are aligned with both global consistency and local relevancy
Direct the instructional design and development of internally or externally developed learning solutions for a variety of delivery methods including e-Learning and instructor-led content
Analyze learning evaluation data and metrics to diagnose gaps, identify opportunities and implement change to insure content is current, relevant and delivered in the most efficient and effective manner
Oversee learning projects through effective project management, planning, resourcing, and communication
Evaluate learning solutions to ensure key metrics are being met
Manage a budget in excess of $5 million; track and maintain annual budget and expenses

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of twelve years of learning & development experience
Demonstrated success leading a global sales training/learning & development or sales capability team
Previous experience in a global role leading successful deployment of learning interventions across geographically dispersed employees
Thorough knowledge of instructional design, learning methodology and learning technologies
Significant people leadership, alignment, consultation, and influencing skills, at an executive level
Ability to work across multiple functions within sales, geographies and cultures in a collaborative manner
Ability to develop a virtual team linking the sales capability resources across the globe
Proven ability to build working relationships in order to work with and through others to deliver results
Strong written & verbal communication skills, analytical ability, leadership strengths and ability to work effectively with a team
Strong business acumen with results orientation to drive key business performance metrics
Computer software skills to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Language: Fluent in English; other languages preferred but not required
Ability to travel internationally and domestically 10-15% (first year estimated 30-40% travel)
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree is required. MBA or a master’s degree is preferred.
