Sales Development Director - SOASTA - San Francisco


Job description
The Sales Development Director is responsible for managing the Sales Development team. Sales Development is a very strategic organization for the company that identifies and creates new qualified leads for their regional sales counterparts. The SDR Director will work with Marketing to create a go-to market strategy for the team and then together drive content creation and sales enablement for the organization. A key function of this role will be creating a programmatic approach to inbound and outbound call campaigns which will result in qualifying active buying interest and the identification of critical decision makers. The SDR Director will also work with the VP of Americas and Regional Directors to coordinate efforts to align sales efforts to maximize territory coverage and overall revenue contribution for the company. The SDR Director will need to be able to articulate the SOASTA value proposition via the phone and web to both IT staff and C-level executives and scale this skill set through coaching to the team members. Hiring and team building are critical to this role.


Job Responsibilities
Provide feedback and recommendations on marketing efforts from real world interactions with prospects and customers
Drive and execute on a weekly campaign cadence to increase pipeline for the organization
Ensure SDR’s develop and maintain effective territory plans to maximize and leverage phone time, including pre-call planning and customizing scripts to market segments and prospect type
Achieve/exceed monthly metrics (appointments, qualified leads, new contacts, etc.) and ensure participation across the individual team members in stated goals
Prospect, educate, qualify and develop target accounts
Respond to inbound customer interest and develop these accounts to create opportunities
Successfully manage and overcome customer objections
Ability to call within all levels of an organization and identify business needs for SOASTA solutions
Keep up with industry trends and best practices to ensure the best utilization of internet research tools for prospecting and web resources
Enhance the use of chat a way to engage prospects and bring in more qualified leads

Desired Skills and Experience
Candidates should have 4-6 years of management experience in sales development or related experience in a business to business environment
Experience with hiring, enablement, training, and mentoring of new hires
Proven track record of success in cold calling, deal qualification and goal achievement
Highly motivated and professional with excellent communication skills, highly confident and goal-oriented.
Experience in speaking with both IT and C-level executives
Fast learner with strong technical aptitude
Must have high ethics, integrity, and humility with a desire to be part of a rapidly growing sales and support organization
Experience in software start-up and competitive software sales environments.
Experience with Salesforce.com
BA/BS required
