Director - Mobility Solutions - Kyocera Communications - San Diego


Job description
The Director of Mobility Solutions is responsible for developing and executing the overall Solutions business plan to ensure Kyocera Communications, Inc. achieves its revenue targets for the customer. This role will be responsible for sales activities to increase the selection of Kyocera devices for business and government customers that require solutions & services integrated with Kyocera products. This person will be the overall Solutions lead and act as the visionary and champion to guide the future strategy for Kyocera’s mobility solutions.


As the Solutions lead, the person will work collaboratively with each carrier Account Lead to grow and sustain B2B and B2G revenue within that customer account. The role will also have direct sales responsibility for non-carrier B2B and B2G Solutions focused accounts. Experience managing Solution sales within a large carrier organization is required.

The Director of Mobility Solutions will leverage a healthy balance of leadership, technical and sales skills in a very dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role is an integral part of both the strategic sales process and ensuring post-sale solution adoption. The incumbent will interface with customers, internal technical, planning, and marketing resources to develop customer-specific solutions and implement post-launch support.

This role will apply specialized knowledge of the customer’s business and platform requirements to guide Kyocera engineering teams through solution design. The Director, Mobility Solutions will serve as the hub of the product management, solution selection/implementation, and delivery support cycle. A high level of interaction with both customers and internal organizations (product management, development, service and sales teams) is required for success.

This position will have awareness of the key strategic solutions platforms for each carrier / customer and maintain or establish Executive relationships with those solution and service partners. The Director, Mobility Solutions works across customers and partners as a product and solution expert. He/she maintains a thorough knowledge of each customer's technical requirements and anticipates the types of information that the customer will need.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Solution Sales
Strong technology generalist who can speak with authority on topics such as SaaS and enterprise mobility.
Coordinate internal work teams to ensure that deliverables necessary for increasing Kyocera’s B2B & B2G Solutions driven sales are properly completed in a timely manner.
Work collaboratively with internal Sales organization to find best solution for selling to each customer, and ultimately ensuring Kyocera wins the deal (sell through carrier sales team, direct, distribution, etc.).
Leads successful sales presentations and conducts complex sales negotiations (including terms, pricing, and volume) among a variety of audiences within the customer organization
Collaborate with Project Managers and technical directors to develop estimates, develop overall implementation solution plan, and serve as a lead as required, to implement the installation, customization, and integration efforts special projects, committees, or team meetings
Experienced with multiple hardware/software environments and comfortable with complex system environments.
Demonstrated experience leading multiple projects through the software development process or development life cycle and has performed in a variety of different roles in that life cycle.
Viewed as a technical expert, with solid knowledge that spans software and hardware platforms, as well as operating systems. The incumbent will partner with developers to ensure proper implementation.
Track and report on new opportunities and activities related to new solution & service integrations
Business Development
Actively recruit and manage business relationships with a thriving ecosystem of technology partners who build and sell solutions integrated with Kyocera devices.
Partner with software solution vendors (e.g., horizontals, systems integrators, accessory suppliers, etc.)
Actively assist carrier account executives in closing opportunities.
Present technical and business solutions to diverse clients and partners.
Effectively correspond with all levels of a client organization in the technical, operational and executive suites.
Lead solution demonstrations and Proof of Concept activities.
Work in conjunction with sales account leads to timely and accurately bid client proposals.
Lead webinars and thought leadership sessions to promote Kyocera and drive customer adoption and references.
Solutions Product Management
Develop the overall vision for device and solution integration to advance customer business goals.
Partner with account executives to develop strong relationships and opportunities with clients.
Organize development and design of system solutions that achieve business objectives for B2B / B2G customers.
Work with carrier account leads to drive product Solutions planning from conceptualization through launch creating actionable plans, work streams and tactics to execute on those in support of new product launches.
Define and manage the solution roadmap, setting expectations with all relevant stakeholders.
Work with Product Planning, Program Management, Legal, and international engineering teams to deliver products that have solutions and services integrated.

Travel: Ability to accommodate travel between 40-75%

Desired Skills and Experience
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related area, Master’s degree preferred
7-10 years of experience in wireless / solutions sales, OEM software sales, or business development / systems engineering role with demonstrated experience in building technology alliances
Understanding of software product development, as well as enterprise solutions and requirements
Possess industry and product knowledge and consultative selling skills
Solid knowledge of carrier enterprise solution platforms
Outstanding written and verbal communications, presentation and delivery skills
Excellent leadership, problem-solving and analytical skills
Expertise in selling methodologies, strategic planning & execution, and employee motivation techniques.
Highly organized and capable of simultaneously managing leads, events, and relationships across multiple partners
A self-starter and proactive leader willing to display initiative with common sense
Results-driven and committed to outcomes rather than output
Team-focused, with the ability to gain the personal support of others
Strong work ethic and committed to quality
