Director - Licensing - Toys & Gear - National Geographic Society - Washington


Job description
The National Geographic Society seeks a Director of Licensing who will be responsible for sales and directing of the NG licensing business for the Toys & Gear categories. Responsibilities include licensing sales, product development, account management, and distribution of merchandise. Supervises 1-5 staff members.


Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Minimum of 5-8 years of sales, licensing, and marketing experience as well as 3-5 years of product development experience also required. Excellent client relations and verbal/written communications skills. Ability to develop sales pitches and create presentations. High level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Intermediate skills with Adobe Acrobat. Retail experience highly desired.
Outstanding project management skills. Excellent knowledge of toy retailers and industry. Excellent sales and negotiation skills. Strong product development knowledge. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities and successfully meet deadlines; ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation within a team.
