Job description
Dir Product Management – Coin Counting
The Director of Product Strategy & Management, Retail Coin Counting is the product owner and champion for Coinstar’s flagship product whereby consumers are able to unlock the hidden value of their coins at any one of Coinstar’s 18K+ kiosks located throughout grocery and mass retailers in North America. While a mature business, this individual is accountable for revenue growth and is tasked with being the leader for this product. The Director is the product’s business expert and is responsible for setting and executing upon the overall strategic vision and roadmap for this key product.


Key Responsibilities:
Develop the 5 year strategy for the business including lifecycle management and product roadmap that match the financial targets of the Coinstar Line-of-Business (LOB)
Structure and manage the product’s P&L, ensuring a solid interface with the LOB’s existing finance protocol and cycles Creates, oversees, and manages the overall product management process to define the product strategy, roadmap and priorities for the Coin Counting product and associated back-end systems
Oversees the creation of and develop meaningful, usable and high-quality business requirements
Ensure that the product has a strong “balanced relevance” quotient, vis-à-vis customers, retailer partners and the end consumer
Creates a structure and process that facilitates a successful test and learn phase and the on-boarding phase of new product elements, and allows broad and timely visibility across all key constituents
Partners effectively with the Business Integration team, inclusive of technical product managers and program managers and provides the necessary visibility and information to enable their success
Works closely the brand strategy and marketing communications group to ensure deep alignment and support both established and new products
Develops and maintain a robust working knowledge base of industry, the category as well as the needs and wants of the customer in order to deepen product relevance that builds overall comp store sales

Desired Skills and Experience
10 + years of business strategy development and product management experience including annual operating plans and 5 year strategic plans, in particular managing software and hardware development cycles
5+years of successfully leading and managing teams
Strategic, strong business sense with P&L accountability and demonstrated ability to launch and grow businesses
Naturally inquisitive nature including a relentless attention to detail in order to optimize product performance
Exceptional leadership skills, with proven ability to lead through influence vs. authority
Proven financial modeling skills with an ability to “data mine” as the situation requires
Experience in managing a new product innovation process involving cross functional teams including external constituents
Proficient in managing product lifecycles and pricing strategies
Strong experience in translating business needs into product features, balancing business needs and technical limitations while being a user advocate
Deep skills in “go-to-market” strategy development and execution including marketing strategy
Proficient grasp of market /consumer intelligence methodology and experience levering consumer intelligence to identify overall growth opportunities and specific product initiatives
Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred
