Director - Corporate Development - Kineta - Seattle


Job description
The Director of Corporate Development is responsible as a member of the team for the sourcing and closing of new investors, collaborations and opportunities that will move Kineta and its drug development programs towards the point of licensing. This individual’s focus will be on accredited investors, high net worth individuals, family offices, private equity, foundations, collaborations and other potential opportunities. As a key member of the team this individual will be expected to deliver on both short term and long term strategic goals that are crucial to the overall success of the organization as identified by the SVP of Corporate Development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Identify, source, cultivate and close new investor leads on a weekly basis
Participate in established processes as it relates to maintaining accurate records of work performed
Meet monthly and yearly funding objectives
Work collaboratively with the team to ensure continuity of messaging and to close larger investment opportunities.
Assist, as required, the SVP of Corporate Development with other tasks necessary to move the company towards its goals.
Assist in the development of marketing materials and messaging that is consistent with the overall company message and strategic vision.

Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications
Deep knowledge of the financial and or fund raising industry.
Demonstrated success with closing of large capital raises.
Proven ability to research and source new investors opportunities.
Proven ability to drive a multiplicity of fund raising interactions in a proactive, timely and professional manner.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; excellent presenter with an ability to think on your feet.
Proven ability to understand and effectively communicate complex concepts.
Background in or knowledge of immunology, virology, innate immunity, peptides and chronic pain therapies a plus.
Possess high level of integrity, maturity, ethics and excellent business judgment
Professionalism; outstanding interpersonal skills; presence
Entrepreneurial mindset
Strong work ethic; self-motivated; able to work independently
Willingness to travel as required
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor degree; MBA or PhD a preferred
Minimum of 10 years industry or related experience required
Proven record of capital raise performance and closing
Strong knowledge of drug development and the biopharmaceutical industry
