Director - CardioMEMS - St. Jude Medical - Plymouth


Job description
We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Director, CardioMEMS to take primary responsibility for facilitating integrated business planning and market development globally for CardioMEMS. This Director will drive and lead business planning, collaboration, visibility and accountability to mobilize STJ resources across the company and around the world to execute on CardioMEMS.

Impact this role will have within the organization:
• Accelerates Growth Drivers: Facilitates development and execution of integrated business planning across STJ organizations, divisions, franchises and markets to ensure alignment and accelerate commercial adoption of STJ growth driver programs.

• Integrated Business Planning: Collaborates globally across stakeholders to gain alignment and visibility, ensure execution and track progress against integrated business plans. Identifies, predicts, prevents and resolves issues and obstacles impacting the program timeline and execution quality.
• Market Development: Collaborates with Product Marketing, Marketing Services, US and International Marketing to develop tools, messages, data, programs, systems, services and behaviors to develop markets and enable commercialization to produce maximum results in enabling sales of growth driver technologies. Works cross-functionally to develop, target and measure training-based initiatives such as Multi-Physician Education programs, peer-to-peer education, Fellows training, etc. training on appropriate product use in new standards of care.
• Strategy and Prioritization: Using strong business acumen, domain expertise, strategic thinking and data, prioritizes investment of financial and human resources to yield the greatest business results in collaboration with key stakeholders across the company.
• Product and Data Development: Engages with Program Management and Product Marketing to drive product and data development priorities and ensures implementation in support of launch preparation, sales execution and market development.
• Brand Development: Collaborates with Marketing Services to execute multi-channel marketing strategies and develop the St. Jude Medical brand in support of market development and therapy advocacy.
• KOL Engagement and Development: Engages strategically with the sales force and key customers to build the St. Jude Medical brand, advance market development and enable sales.
• Metrics and Visibility: Defines, tracks and reports metrics regarding growth driver planning and execution. Exercises judgment in planning and organizing work; monitors performance and reports status. Uses best business practices to ensure success in areas of responsibility
• Business Model Development and Analysis: Develops sound business models and analyzes business opportunity factoring investment costs, COGS, cost of sales/service and revenue returns.

Required Qualifications:
• Ten plus years of progressively more responsible business experience in a class III medical device company or equivalent, including product, market or program management experience.
• A substantive knowledge of the cardiac medical device industry, health care delivery, and managed care/reimbursement markets and the factors that drive them.
• Specific heart failure experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Program Management or equivalent
• A minimum of four plus years of demonstrated experience at a leadership level.
• A thorough understanding of product and market development with a strong understanding of data development.
• Strong device business acumen, strategic thinking, commercial focus and customer skills.
• Exceptional project management skills.
• Ability to foster collaboration, influence others outside of reporting structure and work collaboratively across a matrix structure.
• Analytical skills enabling financial modeling, business analysis and progress tracking and visibility.
• Ability to work with US and International internal and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel.
• A passion for learning.
• Ability to predict, prevent/identify and address obstacles impeding progress.
• Seasoned judgment acquired through organizational experience and a demonstrated record of achievements in successfully building a business.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills; the ability to lead a cross-functional team.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of frequently used personal computer programs and applications, such as, Microsoft Office. Must be adept at handling multiple assignments and accomplish these projects within budgetary guidelines.
• Works closely with Product Marketing, Program Management, Clinical Affairs, US and International Marketing.
• Polished communicator - written documentation and oral presentations/ discussions/ meetings.
• Excellent reputation for building relationships across various levels of an organization.
• Organized, on-time, and detailed project management skills.
• Energized attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:
• MBA from a top business school.
