Description
FutureWei Technologies, Inc. (Huawei R&D USA) is a leader in Network research and development. Huawei R&D USA is looking for a highly qualified senior architect talent to join our growing team at the Software Lab and help building our Big Data and Analytics strategy and architecture for the telecom vertical as well as potentially others. This is a hands-on role and the person will work on variety of new software technologies including Big Data, Hadoop, In-memory processing such as Shark/Spark, analytics (machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis) applied to different layers in the software stack (from network level to user experience and other layers in-between) and data visualization. You must have proven track record in technology companies and specifically in the Big Data and Analytics areas. In addition, the ideal candidate must have strong communication skills, and ability to be an independent thinker.

Qualifications and Requirements
Strong system-level design and implementation experience to work closely with a Telco PaaS platform to integrating the Big Data/Analytics platform with our Telco PaaS.
Track record in the Big Data and Analytics development areas. Familiarity with Hadoop, SQL, NoSQL, Spark, Machine learning algorithms, Statistical Analysis including the R-programming language. Familiarity or experience with Analytics application in the Telco vertical is a major plus.
Leadership role in developing POC including selection from alternative technologies that best suite customer requirements.
Effective team player working closely with both architects and product managers in the software lab as well as in other divisions in the Big Data and Analytics areas.
Ability to be part of collaborate projects with Academia. In addition, experience with open source projects; participate in open source activities; contribute back to the open source communities.
Demonstrate ability to be a “high level thinker” looking at the larger picture and bring new innovations and development approaches to the organization.
Must Have:
10+ years of software design and development experience, with a solid Hadoop, Spark, machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis including the R-programming language, and troubleshooting complex systems.
Track record in the Big Data / Analytics areas.
Familiar with Big data/analytics development, troubleshooting and deployment in the cloud.
Hands-on programming skill with Java, C/C++, SQL and at least one of the following languages: Ruby, Go Language, Javascript.
Experience developing Restful APIs and web servers like Apache HTTP server, and Nginx.
Development experience working with highly scalable & available platforms..
Familiar with development environment and tools on Linux/UNIX (Solaris, BSD).
Design with performance in mind.
Strong problem solving skills.
Good communication skills and a team player.
Experience with working in projects with overseas teams.
Experience with Agile development process.
MS in CS/CE and PhD is preferred.

Good to Have:
Experience developing analytics as a service
Experience with visualization
Familiar with deployment in the cloud (PaaS), platform manageability, monitoring, and software policies to meet SLA based on monitored data.
Experience developing on telecommunications platforms
Experience with Cloud-based platforms
Good understanding and expertise with virtualization. Knowledge of SDN/NFV/openflow/openstack is a plus.
