Senior Director - Software Quality - Cepheid - San Francisco

Job description
Job Responsibilities:
- Develops quality policies for company software products.
- Develops quality policies for non-product software used by the company for manufacturing or in quality system.
- Develops quality policies for software defect tracking and failure investigation.
- Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
- Oversees the development and execution of software test plans and analysis of test results for product and non-product software validations.
- Develops processes and procedures for software automation testing.
- Provides guidance in the software development life cycle, preparation of technical appraisals of programming languages and systems, computational software,
and related technology.
- Provides review and guidance for software section of Cepheid regulatory submissions.
- Responsible for staffing and on-boarding activities for high caliber technical SQA staff within planned budget and timeline.


Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experienceMinimum of 15 years of experience and competency in managing software validation teams using manual and automated
software testing
- Ability to develop good scripting practices within automation software test teams
- Ability to manage many diverse software projects (product software and non-product software) with efficient, adaptable, and creative use of software quality
resources
- Skilled leadership with capabilities in inspiring others and diagnosing strengths/weaknesses/potential within software validation teams
- Experience and competency in solving complex and multi-tiered problems
