Director - Trade Relations - EnvisionRxOptions - El Dorado Hills


Job description
The Director Trade Relations is responsible for directing the trade relations functions of the company in accordance with the policies and practices of EnvisionRxOptions. This position will be responsible for comprehensive and strategic direction of pharmaceutical manufacturer contracting for Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare and discount card business while maintaining the exceptional level of professionalism and customer service standards that Envision has attained within the pharmacy benefit management industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct and execute overall trade relations contracting strategy to include the negotiation process, review, renegotiation and eventual execution of pharmaceutical manufacturer contracts for Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare and discount card business
Review and direct the staff distribution of work, allocation of resources, work methods, training modules and performance standards
Oversee analytics and reporting of contract negotiations and the comprehensive impact of formulary management strategies
Respond to internal requests regarding manufacturer billing, contract eligibility, payment, and reconciliation

Lead cross-functional efforts to develop and launch products and developments in client drug management strategies
Provide timely coordination for Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee (P&T) review of formularies, formulary implementation and confirmation to the drug manufacturer
Provide client direction, analytics and recommendations regarding impact of formulary and benefit choice
Manage direct reports in accordance with company policies in an equal manner that ensures confidentiality

Lead and mentor staff to improve skillset and career potential
Advise on employee promotions, transfers, and dismissals
Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in health administration, business, or related field required; Pharm.D. or MBA strongly preferred
Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical manufacturer contracting capacity
A knowledgeable individual with appropriate industry experience, preferably in the healthcare, insurance or PBM industry
Medicare Part D knowledge strongly preferred
Strong data analysis and presentation skills
Pharmacy claim analysis experience preferred
Financial and statistical reporting knowledge and experience
Project management experience preferred
Ability to exercise considerable judgment, maintain confidentiality, and act in a diplomatic manner
Progressive staff management experience
A good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor
Ability to independently identify, research and resolve issues
An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills
An excellent facilitator who is experienced in resolving conflicts between different parties to a dispute
A decisive individual who possesses a strategic focus as well as an operational, implementation, and detail oriented perspective
A strategic planner with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
Ability to work with peers in a team effort
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
A well-organized and self-directed individual who is able to work with minimal amount of supervision
Capability to efficiently complete tasks in a fast paced environment
Ability to lift heavy paper boxes
Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays pursuant with industry demands
Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry related software programs
Willingness to travel
