Creative Art Director - Pure Romance - Cincinnati
Job description
Pure Romance is seeking an experienced Creative Director who is excited to help develop and execute the brand strategy both in print and online. This is a people-oriented role that will manage an internal team of writers and designers in prioritizing, assigning tasks, and overseeing workflow. The Creative Director will need to understand the business and have the ability to develop and present high-quality campaigns to internal clients. The Creative Director will allocate 70% of his/her time to managing internal graphic designers/writers and will also be expected to develop creative 30% of the time. This role will report in to the Senior Vice President and Vice President of Creative.
Responsibilities
Lead creative brainstorming and project kick-offs
Manage multiple projects from concept through completion
Develop creative programs and design concepts nimbly that meet the business objectives of the organization and that advance our brand strategy
Supervise and inspire the creative team
Work with internal clients across the business on campaigns and promotions
Manage a team of writers and designers
Provide quality control over concepts and projects
Desired Skills and Experience
Incredibly strong design skills and familiarity with marketing copy
Undergraduate degree in Fine Arts or related field or equivalent visual design and management experience required; graduate degree preferred
Strong time-management skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while under tight deadlines
Inspire and develop talent within the team and hire talent when needed Ability to maintain deadlines, budgets, design intent, and project objectives
5+ years of increasingly interesting design experience and team leadership
Ability to research and be current on trends in graphic design and branding
Significant experience with InDesign, Photoshop, HTML; familiar with Flash & Illustrator
Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography & limitations of the web
Working knowledge of design, brand development, ecommerce and creative process
Print and web design capabilities
Ability to lead projects from concept to completion
Ability to make evaluative judgments
Ability to communicate effectively
Advertising agency experience is a plus
