Academic Director - OAKLEY SCHOOL - Salt Lake City

Job description
We are looking for an experienced Academic Director to lead the Academic Department at The Oakley School.
The Academic Director has overall accountability for day-to-day management and continuous improvement of education services. This position is a member of the Director Team, working with the Admissions, Clinical, Residential, and Experiential Education Teams to ensure effective coordination, communication and quality of functions and processes.


Primary responsibilities include:
Leadership of Academic Staff including supervision, training, professional development, performance management, and recruiting.
Training for all employees regarding academic philosophy of school.
Ensure that schedules and staffing are appropriate to maintain high academic standards, student engagement, classroom safety, and orderly movement throughout the day.
Oversee the planning and execution of school events and activities such as parent weekend and graduation.
Participate in program development and best practices initiatives.
Involvement in off-campus activities including adventure education.
Provide oversight of compliance to accreditation and licensing standards.

Desired Skills and Experience
Master’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university
Experience managing a team of people within a fast-paced, intense environment (educational management preferred)
Must have knowledge of educational requirements within State of Utah and an understanding of working with students in a therapeutic school
