Job description
The Sales Director supports functions essential to sales force productivity. These include planning, reporting, quota setting and management, sales process optimization, sales job design, sales training, sales program implementation, sales compensation design and administration, and recruiting and selection of sales force talent.


The Sales Director is responsible for the overall productivity and effectiveness of the assigned sales organization. Reporting to the CEO, the Sales Director also works to ensure that the appropriate objectives and priorities are enabled and supported within the sales organization.

The Sales Director manages sales of the company’s products and services within a defined geographic area or country. Ensure consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning, deployment and management of sales personnel. Identifies objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short- and long-term sales and earnings.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborates with the CEO/EVP/CFO in establishing and recommending the most realistic sales goals for the company.
Proactively identifies opportunities for sales process improvement.
Manages an assigned geographic sales area or product line to maximize sales revenues and meet corporate objectives.
Establishes and manages effective programs to compensate, coach, appraise and train sales personnel.
Sells products by maintaining and expanding customer base; managing staff
Accomplishes regional sales human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees in assigned districts; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
Monitors the accuracy and efficient distribution of sales reports and other intelligence essential to the sales organization.
Recommends revisions to existing reports, or assists in the development of new reporting tools as needed.
Meets regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs sales activities on major accounts and negotiates sales price and discounts in consultation with the CEO.
Maintains and expands customer base by counseling district sales representatives; building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities.
Manages personnel and develops sales and sales support staff.
Reviews progress of sales roles throughout the company.
Accurately forecasts annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams.
Monitors the accuracy and efficient distribution of sales reports and other intelligence essential to the sales organization.
Recommends revisions to existing reports, or assists in the development of new reporting tools as needed.
Develops specific plans to ensure revenue growth in all company’s products.
Provides quarterly results assessments of sales staff’s productivity.
Monitors the assigned sales organization’s compliance with required standards for maintaining CRM data.
Works closely with the CEO & the CFO to optimize the effectiveness of the organization’s technology investments.
Coordinates training delivery to sales, sales management, and sales support personnel in the sales organization supported.
Provides input to senior leadership in the development and administration of sales incentive compensation programs.
Working with Accounting, Finance, and Human Resources, provides assistance with sales incentive compensation administration on an as-needed basis, or when required to arbitrate or clarify the application of sales compensation program policies and procedures.
Directs and supports the consistent implementation of company initiatives.
Builds peer support and strong internal-company relationships with other key management personnel.
Recommends product lines by identifying new product opportunities, and/or product, packaging, and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors
Coordinates proper company resources to ensure efficient and stable sales results.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
Formulates all sales policies, practices and procedures.
Assists sales personnel in establishing personal contact and rapport with top echelon decision-makers.
Collaborates with the CEO or the EVP to develop sales strategies to improve market share in all product lines.
Accomplishes sales and organization mission by completing related results as needed
Interprets short- and long-term effects on sales strategies in operating profit.
Educates sales team by establishing programs/seminars in the areas of new account sales and growth, sales of emerging products and multi-product sales, profitability, improved presentation strategies, competitive strategies, proper use and level of sales support, management of expenses and business/financial issues on contracts.
Collaborates with CFO to establish and control budgets for sales promotion and trade show expenses.
Responsible for monitoring the performance of the sales team by establishing a system of reports and communications involving sales reports and cyclical sales meetings.
Reviews expenses and recommends economies.
Responsible for obtaining profitable results through the sales team by developing the team through motivation, counseling, skills development and product knowledge development.
Holds regular meetings with sales staff.
Personally observe the performance of sales representatives on a regular basis.
Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
Manage the sales administration function, operational performance reporting, streamlining processes and systems wherever possible, and advising senior management on maximizing business relationships and creating an environment where customer service can flourish.
Plan and implement a specific appraisal system that describes the responsibilities and performance standards for each member of the sales team, set individual territory sales and commission targets and administer the commission plan.
Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts.
Direct and coordinate activities involving sales of manufactured products and services.
Determine price schedules and discount rates.
Review operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability.
Advise dealers and distributors on policies and operating procedures to ensure fiscal and functional effectiveness of business.
Prepare budgets and approve budget expenditures.
Represent company at trade association meetings to promote products.
Plan and direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and service programs.
Visit clients and suppliers to stimulate interest in establishment or expansion of FreeStyle Rental programs.
Drive, identify and develop business opportunities within the sales staff.
Assess marketing potential of new and existing store locations, considering statistics and expenditures.
Assist the CEO with establishing Key Performance Indicators for the sales staff.
Achieves sales operational objectives by contributing sales information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying trends; determining sales system improvements; implementing change.

Reports directly to the CEO.
Manages a Sales staff made up of Account Executives.
Directs the support of implementation resources, service resources, and other sales and management resources as needed, coordinating with the appropriate management-level supervisors.
Fosters close, cooperative relationships with peer leaders, sales and support personnel, project management and estimating.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Life-long learner with a B.A./B.S and professional work experience gained in business development/sales/account management.
Five to ten years’ experience managing a sales team, preferably Inside Sales.
Proven record of success and business acumen in building and managing vendor and end user accounts.
Solid reputation working in a client facing role.
