Global Head - Blood Screening Marketing - Grifols - San Francisco
Job description
The Global Head, Blood Screening Marketing will manage the Blood Screening marketing team and product portfolio consisting of analytical instruments, assays, pipetting systems, other supporting instruments and software used in the blood screening market. Reporting to the VP Global Marketing, Diagnostics.
Major Activities:
Direct the Blood Screening marketing team in the development of product strategy to meet the short and long term objectives of the organization, including portfolio expansion by development and/or acquisition and market expansion.
Manage the marketing relationship between Grifols and Hologic to ensure the successful development of products and marketing materials required for commercial success. Act as the marketing representative on the Grifols/Hologic Operating Committee, and may serve as an extended team member of the Grifols/Hologic Supervisory Board.
Global responsibility for donor screening product portfolio.
Facilitate the Dx Commercial Counsel, which is the strategic decision making body for new country entry, new market entry and new product business case approval.
Direct the Blood Screening team to provide marketing input to project plans for blood screening products. Develop annual and long term marketing plans, and business plans for new investment opportunities.
Direct marketing personnel to ensure they meet functional objectives as well as career development goals.
Accountable for the Voice of the Customer activities for the Blood Screening marketplace.
Responsible for developing and manage travel and vendor expense budget.
Develop strategic marketing plans and materials.
Representative of the Donor Screening business to executive management.
Direct Blood Screening marketing team to develop sales tools to support sales efforts within commercial regions.
Support development of study protocols to drive the interests of the organization.
Support the development and staffing of key trade shows and scientific meetings worldwide.
Act as key point of contact for the commercial regions to pursue new business opportunities.
Responsible for Source Plasma Strategic Business Planning.
Represent the Donor Screening Global Marketing team as part of Strategic Planning Process.
Desired Skills and Experience
BS in life science or marketing and/or MBA highly preferred.
10 years in marketing and senior sales positions.
Experience in a medical device or diagnostics company preferred
Minimum 5-7 years experience in a combination of US and international marketing roles in the blood bank and/or diagnostics markets.
Experience managing product management teams in both development and commercial functions.
Proven track record of successful product launches, good project management skills and experience developing and marketing laboratory tests and/or systems.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
