Director - Technical Project Management - Lighthouse eDiscovery - Seattle
Job description
Lighthouse is excited to be hiring a Director of Technical Project Management to drive the long-term success of strategic technical project management services to the enterprise client base. As the Director of TPM, you will be responsible for setting and driving the strategic initiatives and the department-level practices of the Technical Project Management pods as they relate to Lighthouse clients.
The Director will manage and continue to develop a high-performing team of Sr. Technical Project Managers and their direct reports to ensure continued successful innovation in the design, development and implementation of strategic-level solutions for Lighthouse clients. The Director will provide expert-level consultation and guidance across the spectrum of Lighthouse’s eDiscovery Services to clients and internal team members. The Director will drive department-level and inter-departmental initiatives and monitor enterprise client metrics including activity levels, revenue and profitability, the ratio of professional services hours to data sizes as well as develop other business intelligence and performance metrics.

Responsibilities
• Continue to build and retain a high performing team through strong leadership, training and personnel management
• Create an organizational strategy for successful implementation of enterprise-level work;
• Serve as the primary escalation point of contact, beyond the Sr. Technical PM, for enterprise clients;
• Provide vision, leadership, direction and coaching to ensure continuous and successful employee development;
• Maintain strong communication with the Project Management team, senior leaders in other internal departments and the client to resolve strategic issues;
• Collaborate effectively with finance team, client service representatives, PMs and other departments to continually assess revenue and service metrics associated with enterprise clients;
• Identify and drive department-level and cross-departmental strategic initiatives independently and at direction of Sr. Director of Project Management;
• Partner with Senior Technical PMs to drive:
Implementation of eDiscovery best-practices
Identification of most pressing challenges facing individual enterprise clients
Identification, design and implementation of strategic and tactical solutions
Identification and coordination of embedded resource opportunities
periodic reviews with enterprise-level clients;
• Continually assess and implement best practices within Technical PM department in coordination with Sr. Director of Project Management;
• Partner with senior management to create and drive strategic cross-departmental initiatives and goals within the company.
Education Requirements and Experience
Candidate must be a professional, experienced Legal Project Manager, with demonstrated success in managing personnel and large, complex projects in a litigation environment. Specific requirements include the following:
• BS/BA or equivalent degree required,
• 5+ years of experience in a service delivery environment
• Additional minimum two years Lighthouse Document Technologies Sr. Technical Project Management work experience, or previous senior level end-to-end eDiscovery industry experience required
• Excellent knowledge of legal discovery process and concepts
• Proven success and desire to consult with clients, projecting expertise and solving day-to-day challenges as well as strategic challenges
• Excellent project management skills, including experience in the development of management reports, project scoping and tracking, managing to budget, experience and knowledge with processes and systems that produce predictable results on large complex projects.
• Superior communications skills with internal staff (demonstrated both in relaxed atmosphere and under pressure)
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with various levels of client-base ranging from C-level stakeholders to technical individual contributors
• Excellent hands-on knowledge of litigation support arena (broadly across the EDRM)
• Working knowledge of litigation technology, including key applications and tools (e.g. document repository solutions, electronic discovery software, litigation support databases, etc.)
• Ability to multitask under pressure
• A minimum of 5 years direct experience managing professionals, including responsibilities around hiring, promotion, compensation, and evaluation.
• Experience with monitoring and analyzing productivity, utilization and financial metrics preferred
• Experience leading large complex projects and managing multidisciplinary teams from other departments preferred
• JD or advanced degree in related field desired
• Prior in-house corporate legal or law firm legal staff position desired, but not required
• PMP or comparable certification desired
