Job description
Summary
The person is responsible for the overall planning, management and completion of product related software development projects
Works with customers, sales and customer support team members to develop project scope of work documents and project plans. Uses project management skills to manage project roles, identify resource requirements, and define project deliverables leading to successful development of required software

Identifies the technical approach (architecture, components etc.) to be used on a given project and manages the system development process that includes planning the sprint, actively monitoring and working with software development team(s)/QA team(s) to bring those to successful completion
Ensures effective communications and relationships between various team members are maintained.
Essential Functions
Works with appropriate customers, sales team members, customer service team member to identify and coordinate software development for current and existing software based products
Prepares customer requirements and translates them into wireframes, detailed business and technical requirements and interfaces with the respective product development teams to develop software delivery
Develops sprint cycles along with resources and manages sprint based software development projects
Identifies, tracks, monitors and communicates project-related issues, scope changes, variances and contingencies that may arise during the delivery of software projects
Maintains effective communication and working relationships with customers and all the internal stakeholders that may consist of sales, software development team and customer support team members
Identifies the technical approach to be used on a given project and manages the system development process including the development of a delivery plan, systems analysis, technical design, testing and acceptance of a software system and/or applications. Thus, a good hands on knowledge of modern high availability and high scale web based applications is a must
Maintains a good working knowledge of latest tools, technologies and databases as well as Linux based stacks that are use in building high performance web applications. Has a good knowledge of highly scalable architectures and databases.

Desired Skills and Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications
Possess at a minimum Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems, Information Systems, Business Administration, Public Administration, Planning, Geography, Natural Science, Engineering or closely related field. A master’s degree is preferred
Deep knowledge of current software technologies and uses
Considerable ability to translate high level requirements into detailed technical requirements and associated artifacts for software development
Considerable writing proficiency and visual design skills
Have had 5-10 years of full-time experience managing the implementation and support of software projects.

Considerable knowledge of and ability to utilize current word processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail and other on-line productivity tools
Able to travel occasionally and represent the organization to customers, partners
Ability to work under tight deadlines with minimal supervisions
