Role Description
The Portfolio and Decision Analysis Group (PDA) is part of the Strategy, Portfolio and Commercial Operations organization. We are uniquely positioned within Pfizer as internal consultants on strategy optimization for early R&D efforts through post-marketing initiatives for internally sourced pipeline products.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities are:
*Support strategic investment decisions for pre-POC internal development programs
*Serve as a standing member of pre POC Asset/project teams, advising them on strategic alternatives that can add value to the asset/project
*Lead analyses, across large cross functional teams, that guide value adding strategic investment decisions for investments by implementing decision analysis methodologies to evaluate alternatives incorporating relevant cost, risk and return inputs.
*Demonstrate ability to apply a breadth of analytical tools and frameworks to help project/asset teams analyze a variety of decisions.
*Consistently select the appropriate framework to inform the team's decision with a crisp and simple analysis.
*Enable dialog across functions, teams, and RUs/BUs as well as through governance with an eye to transparency, consideration of alternatives, and value-based decision making.
*Frame individual asset/project opportunities in the context of the WRD portfolio and the broader PFE portfolio.
*Communicate insights and impact decision making by bringing the project/asset teams to clarity in their recommendations to governance.
*Support WRD dynamic funding by providing critical portfolio valuation updates as they occur and identify material portfolio changes and provide necessary updates and implications to relevant teams.
*Ensure key databases are updated to include most recent timeline and cost information for programs valued.
*Provide full customized decision support and facilitative leadership for "non-asset" projects, including scoping, framing and determining the most appropriate analytical approach and value metrics.
*Proactively develop new thought pieces and/or initiatives that can add value to clients and be levered across other assets teams and/or across PDA

Qualifications
*Advanced degree in management, decision analysis, medicine, and/or science
*At least 2 years experience post-grad school. 5-8 years of overall relevant business experience. Prior industry experience in strategic planning, decision analysis, R&D function, management consulting and/or investment banking. Experience with a pharmaceutical focus a plus.
*Proficiency in expected cash flow modeling, understanding of economic value measures, and other types of analytical modeling (e.g. Monte Carlo simulation, decision tree analysis, multi-attribute analysis, etc.)
*Demonstrated ability to lead complex assignments requiring integration of multiple disciplines.
*Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
*Working knowledge of decision theory.
*Excellent interpersonal skills.
*Strong facilitation skills.
