Director - Business Insights & Analytics - Kum & Go - Des Moines


Job description

We are currently seeking a Director of Business Insights & Analytics who will provide leadership and strategic direction to a team of analysts dedicated to driving data-driven decision making throughout the organization. This position and members of the team will provide support to the marketing team in evaluating and planning promotions, demand forecasting, predictive modeling, and reporting. In addition, this position will be expected to support the organization in modeling fuel pricing and demand, developing predictive models to assist in store site selection, conducting ad hoc analyses of store performance, etc.

Other Priorities Include:
Provide oversight and direction to statistical analysis and research function and team members.
Elicit, analyze, communicate, validate and document reports and findings of trends, sales, forecasts, segmentation, multivariate analysis, and predictive modeling.
Prepare and present part or all of written status reports for meetings with key project stakeholders by translating statistical findings into testable, developer-ready actions.
Establish and manage end to end short and long term operational/strategic business analysis.
Identify and support long term analytic needs of various departments.
Investigate new trends in statistical modeling/analysis to assist in future business decisions.
Responds to the needs and requests of clients and Kum & Go management and staff in a professional and expedient manner.

Minimum Skills and/or Knowledge Required
Bachelor’s Degree in statistics, economics, mathematics or related quantitative field required; Master’s Degree preferred. 5-7 years of experience in statistical analysis and modeling required.
Experience with statistical analysis packages such as R, SAS, and SPSS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with analyzing and solving problems of a complex nature
Inquisitive and able to efficiently obtain understanding of complex tasks and business strategies while satisfying project objectives
Strong time management skills
Capacity to develop a clear understanding of the business needs and incorporate these needs into technical solutions
Desire to provide value added solutions to meet business needs
Working knowledge of business process to effectively drive solutions as experienced in retail environments
Experience with analyzing and solving problems of a complex nature
