Job description
The Director of Marketing role is a critical function serving both Marketing and Sales. A combination of skills is required to be successful in this role including Demand Generation and Operations.
This person will be responsible for defining and implementing campaigns which deliver qualified net new prospects into our sales and marketing funnel. This role will be instrumental in supporting the company’s revenue objectives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record of campaign management and execution experience within the marketing function for technology companies. This person will play a key role in bringing leads into the funnel, ensuring lead flow, making sure nurture tracks and scoring processes are well defined and executed effectively, providing the right data sets for marketing and sales analytics, managing issues related to marketing and sales systems synchronization, defining and executing processes to support marketing campaigns and events.
The ideal candidate will have a diverse set of demand generation programs experience across the marketing mix including email marketing, content syndication, lead nurture campaigns, appointment-setting, and webinar marketing.
Ideal candidates will be well-versed in marketing and sales funnel concepts, marketing automation systems, buyer’s journey stages, and current marketing trends and best practices.
Responsibilities:
Develop quarterly marketing strategies and execute measurable demand creation programs to support Inquiry/MQL/SQL goals.
Work with product marketing, inside sales, and direct sales teams to shape campaign themes and programs on an annual and quarterly basis.
Assess target account strategies, pipeline and opportunity targets, and identify appropriate marketing campaign tactics, calls to action, in order to meet performance criteria.
Evaluate, select and manage outside vendors as appropriate including scopes of work, contracts, budgets and vendor deliverables.
Help to refine the end-to-end campaign and lead management process in conjunction with Sales, including lead capture, nurturing, and curriculum marketing.
Forecast, measure, analyze and report on the impact of demand creation activities on sales pipeline, revenue and sales cycle length.
Lead marketing automation, CRM marketing and data management operations and roadmap, providing oversight in the technical planning and implementation of lead generation, lead nurturing and lead scoring programs.
Own the contact database, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Implementing tools and procedures for data enrichment.
Drive segmentation strategies to improve campaign targeting, efficiency and results
Define business analytics and develop dashboards and reports to measure all aspects of our business, including database health, campaign effectiveness, and pipeline contribution
Identify marketplace trends, tools and technologies to drive online acquisition, improve conversions, and support the growth of the business
Lead the tactical execution of marketing programs designed to generate new enterprise sales leads (including email, SEM, retargeting, content syndication, webinars, etc)
Track, test, and analyze data relating to campaign metrics to improve and optimize programs by delivering detailed reports on a weekly basis to senior management
Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:
4+ years of experience in marketing operations for high tech, B2B, or SaaS company
Prior success in implementation and management of marketing automation software; experience with marketing automation (Hubspot ideally), web content management, web analytics and reporting.
Experience managing SEM and retargeting campaigns, a plus
Proven track record of supporting successful demand generation programs with knowledge of databases, email execution, lead processes, reporting and analytics
Self-starter with a passion for solving hard problems, comfortable with ambiguity.
Ability to review, edit and develop campaign content and copy when necessary and assemble presentations to support campaign rollout efforts
Excellent communicator with proven ability to clearly convey ideas and data in written and verbal presentations to a variety of audiences.
Experience creating demand creation, lead nurturing and pipeline acceleration programs.
Highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced team environment and is readily adaptable to changing market and organizational requirements.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail: ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in parallel.
Budget management a requirement.
