Job description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing both management and associate training and development programs for the organization. Possess and maintain expertise in industry leading training and delivery models and respond quickly to newly identified training needs within the company. Build the capability of associates across the business in line with company strategy and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Demonstrate front-line leadership in design, formulation, and delivery of training policies and programs, based on knowledge of identified training needs, company processes, business systems, procedural changes, and technological resources.
Define training needs and develop standardized training curricula for new hires and existing employees company wide.
Develop, revise and update training programs to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Demonstrate a high level of capability in the following areas: organizational effectiveness, group process facilitation skills, consulting skills, employee development, performance management, training design and implementation management, project management, and communication.
Establish the framework of day-to-day training operations including coordination of all training and delivery.
Demonstrate knowledge and application of adult learning theory principles and a strong ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
Assist in the development of training metrics to determine effectiveness; identify new training and other educational topics through needs assessment, performance evaluations, and course evaluations.
Monitor training effectiveness and design and implement methods of measuring instructors’ and students’ success in training and post-training.
Conduct periodic needs analysis to ensure alignment between program content and organizational needs.
Drive corporate initiatives and values through learning and development.
Desired Skills and Experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
EDUCATION: College degree or equivalent work experience. Professional accreditation or certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 8+ years of learning and development experience with at least 5 years of progressively increasing project or management experience and responsibilities. Extensive background in adult learning including design, development, delivery and evaluation in both face to face and alternative learning methods. Management experience preferred.
SKILLS: Expertise in adult learning theory and training concepts. Independent self-starter with strong teambuilding, public speaking, critical thinking, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills. Ability to achieve measurable results. Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation and facilitation skills. Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple, conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Positive, can-do attitude; energetic, enthusiastic, determined, and goal-oriented.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Extensive internal contacts, training at all levels of CCAS.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Up to 25% travel required.
