Director - Contract Management - Baxter Healthcare - Deerfield
Job description
Baxter BioPharma Solutions (BPS) offers sterile manufacturing services for injectable drugs to a broad range of pharma clients across the globe. The Director of Contract Management will have a broad range of responsibilities including:
Provide leadership for BPS Contract Management team
Create and manage the contract strategy for the B2B business along with BPS Leadership
Ensure alignment and interface closely with Legal representatives in addition to customer facing organizations, e.g. Program Management, Sales, Regulatory and Quality operations
Evaluate/implement the internal process and tools to efficiently manage contracts
Continually evaluate historical negotiated positions and recommend appropriate changes
Oversee the contract negotiation process for all B2B agreements, including without limitation, the following key agreements: CDAs, Feasibility, Development, Clinical, and Commercial
Independently draft and negotiate complex B2B agreements
Function as content expert on business and legal-related terms for BPS’ agreements
Provide BPS team with guidance and direction relative to alternate positions for liability and business-related terms
Prepare written responses to customers regarding operational issues
Oversee and manage confidentiality-related matters
Establish and monitor contract-related metrics
Manage contract compliance activities, including without limitation, initiation of price increases and contract renewals
Perform contract maintenance-related activities, including contract interpretation, drafting and negotiating amendments, and assist in resolving contract-related disputes
Provide contract summary information to customer facing organizations
Provide training/instruction to customer facing organizations on contract-related terms

Demonstrate strong business acumen and critical thinking skills
Process-oriented and demonstrates a sense of urgency in timely and efficiently completing deliverables
Solid understanding of B2B agreements
Highly proficient in drafting and negotiating a broad range of agreements and leading complex negotiations
In depth knowledge of customary terms and conditions in business agreements
Must be able to organize, prioritize and work effectively in a constantly changing environment
Ability to effectively manage a matrix organization
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interface with internal and external clients
Proven mentoring skills
Bachelor’s degree required with legal-related experience preferred
8 or more years of management experience with 10 or more years of contract/legal experience
