Global Director - Payroll - Pegasystems - Cambridge
Job description
The Position:
A pivotal role that will lead payroll projects as our company continues to expand globally at a rapid rate. This person will be the liaison between the department and senior management, tax and legal to influence policy making decisions.
In this role, you will:
Process Improvement and Strategic Direction
Develop best practices, policies, and procedures related to the global payroll platform including the integration of the IIPay software to HRIS platform.
Develop systems and policies to support the Company’s mobility efforts to ensure accurate reporting of payroll withholdings and tax filings for employees traveling on cross-border assignments.
Implement procedures and controls regarding hypo-tax filings for seconded employees.
Work directly with Human Resources on changes in the business which have direct input on the payroll function
Manage the international payroll providers to ensure SSAE 16 compliance
Lead payroll related integration efforts as it relates to M&A activity.
Manage bi-weekly payroll processing for US & Asia Pacific
Manage daily operations of the Payroll and Equity administration functions with regards to accuracy, timeliness, excellent customer focus and compliance.
Manage vendor relationships with ADP, IIPay, BDO, Morgan Stanley, etc. with a focus on cost effectiveness and customer service
Ensure systems and processes correctly compute and record time, earnings, equity, commissions, benefits and deductions, taxes, garnishments, and other components of payroll in a strong internal controls environment.
Oversee internal/external audits related to the payroll function including but not limited to 401k audits, Workers Comp Audits, etc.
Maintain a strong internal controls environment & develop appropriate controls as the department continues to expand to support controls under Sarbanes Oxley
Lead the accounting function for payroll including review of journal entries and timely preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
Staff Management
Provide leadership for direct reports and manage all aspects of the staffing of the payroll department on a global basis, including indirect reports in the UK and India
Conduct performance reviews for team members based on pre-defined objectives
Provide coaching and guidance to help develop team members and advance their capabilities and careers.

Desired Skills and Experience
The Person:
Will have a strong background in FP&A with experience in budgeting and forecasting, in addition to demonstrated personal leadership skills.
Qualifications will include:
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the Business, Finance, or related field
10+ years of payroll experience.
5+ years of demonstrated leadership experience with a multi-national organization.
5+ years of experience with US and Non-US payroll and payroll tax compliance which includes federal, multiple state and local authorities.
5+ years of experience with Equity Programs and Administration
Experience with various Payroll and HR systems, preferably SAP and ADP
Experience maintaining SOX compliance
