ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of Business Development –Product Partnerships is product-focused role and is directly responsible establishing, developing and executing key product, technology, and distribution partnerships that advance the P&L and strategic objectives for Gogo’s product portfolio. A strong technology acumen is required, and product development experience is strongly preferred. Reporting to the VP of Product, this role is responsible for prospecting potential partners and upon identification, opening discussions with prospects, negotiating business terms, contracts and all relevant duties associated with developing new and existing partnerships. The role will also be responsible for advancing existing partnership to advance the strategies and business objectives of the product portfolio.

The role will also be responsible for developing strong day to day relationships with business counterparts; understanding partner business and product strategy objectives and ensuring those objectives are integrated into Gogo’s product strategy; analyzing overall deal performance; and developing initiatives designed to grow business in new product areas.

Prospect, qualify, negotiate and close deals in an aggressive time-frame
Partner with Product and Finance to develop business models to analyze deals
Partner with Product and Technology to define solutions that meet customer needs
Monitors the competitive, industry, and technology trends with Product peers to evangelize a point of view of how trends should influence our partnership strategies.
Drive relationship building process at multiple levels between partners and Gogo, including at the senior executive level
Work with internal teams to ensure organizational understanding of partner product strategy and needs
Analyze performance of partnerships and report results
Lead complex contract negotiations
Work directly with existing partners and partner operations team to implement Gogo products
Partner with product leadership on development of a unified product strategy in order to unlock new potential revenue streams for the organization

In addition, this person should have an experienced/tenured business development track record, experience working with technology companies; experience with complex deal structuring; an ability to navigate across complex organization; an ability to establish credibility quickly, an inclination to take action, make decisions and lead.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

A BS/BA is required, MBA or equivalent degree preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of business development or equivalent experience is required
Outstanding negotiation and business development skills.
Excellent quantitative, analytical, and business strategy skills.
Strong technology acumen with experience in software product development.
Strong digital and mobile platform background; aviation industry background a plus.
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
Must be decisive, process oriented but with a results orientation.
Prudent risk-taker.
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and an ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
Ability to team with others, solve problems efficiently, deal positively with ambiguity, and drive results.
Ability to work well in a matrixed environment and to influence individuals at all levels of the organization.
Ability to instill vision through personal drive, building enthusiasm and commitment in order to implement strategies and goals.
Ability to stay flexible and agile in fast-paced work environment
