Director - Ad Solutions - WebMD - New York


Job description
WebMD is looking for an experienced senior advertising monetization expert to manage some of the most important aspects of our advertising business. We are looking for a seasoned leader, who understands the advertising ecosystem both from a strategic perspective and from an operational execution point of view. Someone, who can both talk to senior leaders and can also have a technical conversation with advertising operations on various technical issues. To be successful in the role it is imperative that the person who comes on board have spent several years in an advertising/traffic monetization role, preferably for a large content-driven Web site.



Key responsibilities:

Strategic thought leadership. You will be responsible for improving our advertising offerings and inventory monetization will provide key input to the strategic monetization roadmap.
Business Development. You will be testing and evaluating various technologies (SSP, DSP, Viewability, DMP, etc.) and making recommendations on what vendors WebMD should partner with. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders (finance, legal, product, and marketing) to drive business terms, contracting and product roll out to sales.
Programmatic Advertising. You will be driving the programmatic advertising strategy, the productization of our programmatic guaranteed and our various PMP offerings. You will partner with our SSP to roll out these solutions to market and you will own managing the “deal ids”.
Remnant Monetization. You will be the strategic leader overseeing the operation of our remnant monetization stack. You will be ultimately responsible for driving increased yield through various leavers. You will own the day to day relationship with our various technology partners, drive an ongoing business rhythm and serve as the main subject matter expert internally.
Audience Extension. You will oversee and manage the successful operation of our Audience Extension business. You and your team will partner with our DMP provider and our internal account teams to successfully delivery our AE campaigns while insuring target margins.
Behavioral Targeting. You will be the subject matter expert when it comes to managing our DMP solution. You will drive the creation of new audiences, partner with sales in assessing feasibility of custom audience targeting and help to operationalize it both on and off network.
Inventory management. You will become an all-around expert in our inventory setup and inventory management systems as you manage the various parts of our business. This will enable you connect the dots between our different offerings and to identify opportunities from the Lunascape.
Business intelligence and analytics. As a key member of the monetization leadership team you will own regular ongoing KPI reporting across your lines of responsibilities and will also be responsible for providing ad hoc analysis for senior management on strategic issues.
Leadership and people management. There is a lot on your plate, but you will not be alone. A small team of experts will be reporting to you to help your team to success. You will provide the strategic leadership and day to day management to the team. Are you hands off, but ready to roll up your sleeves when needed? Desired Skills and Experience
Experience:

7+ years of relevant experience in operational and strategic roles in advertising; 2+ years of people management experience
Master degree; MBA preferred
Experience with working with various ad tech companies. (DSP, DMP, SSP, AE, Ad Verification, Viewability solutions)
Hands on experience with various platforms and tools, for example: DFP, YieldEx, Lotame, Adjuster, Pubmatic, Rubicon, AdSense, AdX. Tableau
End to end display campaign management experience
