Director - OEM Marketing - Brocade - San Jose


Job description

The Director of OEM Marketing will develop, maintain and execute marketing plans that encompass all aspects of marketing, including but not limited to awareness, enablement, demand generation and social media. This marketing leader will understand both the Brocade and HDS strategy and work to align Brocade messaging and marketing activities with HDS priorities/activities. In addition, the person in this role will help drive Brocade preference and awareness, develop and implement sales programs to help drive revenue growth, and work with cross functional teams to establish preference for Brocade. This candidate will have a can-do attitude, the ability to drive results and will find innovative ways to increase the visibility and revenue for Brocade with/through HDS.
This is a leadership position, and it will be critical for the person in this role to identify and drive collaborative solutions in high growth, high focus areas for Brocade. Amplifying the message in these high growth areas, ultimately generating revenue for Brocade, will be a critical measure of success in this role.
The role is based out of the Bay Area in California. Travel may be up to 30%, mainly but not limited to the US.

Responsibilities include:
Collaborate with Corporate Account VP and cross functional team to develop and drive WW strategic marketing direction for the Brocade / HDS partnership. Present ideas and thought leadership to help guide the strategic direction with HDS.
Set the marketing strategy for this partner, working closely with key stakeholders and executives
Building, justifying and managing budget for marketing plans
Report on and adjust marketing activities based on ROI and qualitative benefit
Optimize time and budget between existing and prospective revenue streams
Executive presence and ability to influence Brocade and HDS executive teams
Develop sales programs to drive Brocade preference, awareness and incremental revenue for the WW Brocade / HDS partnership
Ability to understand OEM and market trends to find mutually beneficial areas to develop sales programs
Strong analytical skills to focus and execute on items w/best return on investment
Be able to track incremental revenue & benefit of new sales programs
Closed loop tracking and reconciliation of programs with marketing operations and finance
Marketing budget/MDF planning and execution.
Build, manage and maintain a rolling 12 month marketing budget
Prioritize budgets and perform analysis to measure ROI on activities
Work with HDS to identify key OEM, industry and regional events and customer engagement activities that warrant participation – actively manage ROI to identify patterns of success
Drive Brocade preference and enhanced competitiveness of the HDS / Brocade partnership through compelling content and messaging
Maintain and update internal and external web sites – ensure content and messaging is up to date, easy to identify and aesthetically appealing
Work with solution team, product marketing and business development to create content for both buyers and sellers

Customer presentations
At a glance guides; Battle cards
Manage content and communications to internal stakeholders – enable the Brocade sales team to better compete in the marketplace with/through HDS
Leverage social media portals to drive awareness for new news, deliverables and industry/partner events
Messaging should be consistent with Brocade brand campaign
Align with mutual focus areas with HDS

Desired Skills and Experience
BS/BA degree – MBA preferred
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Technology-savvy and interest in learning about new technologies
Storage and/or networking industry experience
Core marketing skills (4 Ps) and experience in a related market
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential, with an ability to work both independently and unilaterally
Demonstrated ability to articulately and concisely present marketing/business ideas
Be a thought leader as it pertains to the marketing strategy at/with the partner
Flexible and ability to adjust quickly in a dynamic business environment.
Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating
Ability to bring initiatives to completion while measuring their results
Strong written, interpersonal & communication skills.
