Position Overview:

The Research Director will be responsible for management of Customized research projects and consumer insight in support of the Global Sparkling Brands Canter marketing team. This high profile role includes responsibility for providing research support and guidance to the Fanta and Sprite brands as well as Coke TM and Sparkling Portfolio. The custom nature of the role requires a broad base of understanding and application of qualitative and quantitative consumer research tools and protocols spanning all marketing issues including but not limited to innovation development, communications strategy development, brand positioning, business plan and Marketing Strategy development. It also requires an ability to generate insight from research, business understanding of the issues facing the Sparkling Category and our brands and an ability to translate and integrate an understanding of real human motivation to guide and develop marketing programs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as experience of managing multi country research projects are required for this role.

Function Specific Activities:
Utilize understanding of consumer insights and worldwide trends in order to identify key issues and opportunities for profitable brand growth.

Determine appropriate marketing research methodologies and techniques (e.g., quantitative surveys, marketing mix, qualitative, etc.) by leveraging input from research suppliers and internal experts in order to raise likelihood of utilizing optimal research protocols.

Identify the need for custom marketing research (e.g., consumer, customer or channel) by working with Business Team/ Unit Marketing and Sales and using relevant information (e.g., results of Situation Assessment, ongoing business analyses) in order to address business problem or issue.

Monitor external services and studies (global and/or North America) in order to update Senior Management, Business Teams/ Units, Marketing and Sales on trends (e.g., consumer attitudes, lifestyles, demographics). Protect information provided in confidence from outside sources (bottlers and other business partners) and ensure this information is not disseminated to those not directly involved.
Desired Skills and Experience
Education: Master’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Related Work Experience: At least 10 years

Technical Skills:

Trend Analysis: Knowledge of and ability to gather, interpret and apply multiple consumer/industry insights and trends used in the development of marketing strategies and programs.
Brand Marketing Strategy: Knowledge of information used to define brand strategic corridors and develop appropriate business solutions for local market activation.
Brand Marketing Development: Ability to lead the development, communication and stewardship of global brand positioning, architectures and policies/guidelines.
Strategy Integration: Ability to integrate brand strategy into category management strategy.
Brand Equity: Knowledge of procedures used to drive increases in volume and brand equity (e.g., marketing programs, licensed/specialty merchandise and/or properties).
