Director - HR - Technology - HBO - Midtown Manhattan


Job description
Provide strategic partnership and counsel to HBO’s Technology Organization on Human Resources related issues. Deliver high caliber service and solutions to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of HBO.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively engage with employees and managers on employee relations, performance management, organizational design, leadership development, and compensation administration, and retention of talent.
Provide guidance & input on organizational related issues such as restructures & reorganizations, workforce planning, team efficiencies, succession planning, and talent pool.
Provide leadership and guidance to a small team of HR Managers as they handle complex performance management issues (coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, terminations, and appraisals), career development, and conflict management. Additionally, provide leadership and support with employee complaints and investigations.
Plan and lead the HR Managers, as they manage promotions, transfers, salary adjustments, and headcount planning.
Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
Review and analyze metrics and trends to align with the HBO’s strategy and values.
Regularly communicate with management to support business unit; attend staff and leadership meetings as needed.
Provide HR Policy guidance and interpretation.
Maintain an effective level of business understanding to support HBO’s Technology Organization’s position in the marketplace, culture and competition.
Organize and lead the Annual Organization Review process: Work closely with department heads to identify high potential talent, as well as potential talent gaps within the organization; Work in conjunction with Organizational Effective team to support initiatives to develop and retain high potential talent.
Responsible for relationship building and partnering with senior executives. Must maintain diplomacy of the highest integrity and possess sound judgment.
Partner with HR peers as it relates to employment practices, including the relevant compensation activities of internal equity and market analysis, succession planning and high-potential development, workforce talent assessment and development, and performance management.

Desired Skills and Experience
REQUIREMENTS
10+ year’s progressive HR experience with a strong focus on a digital/technology client base, experience managing and leading a team.
Must be able to understand a technology organization from jobs performed to cultural norms.
Complete knowledge of applicable federal and state labor laws.
Must be effective at partnering with and influencing management and have proven ability to maintain strong client relationships and function as a business partner with all levels of clients.
Self-motivated, results-driven HR professional with proven experience designing, implementing and executing complex policies, processes and programs.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to build strong productive relationships with all levels of staff.
Experience in fast paced atmosphere and ability to handle multiple on-going projects simultaneously and with minimal supervision.
Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, execute, and follow-up in a timely manner.
Excellent communicator (both written and verbal) with strong interpersonal skills; including the ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders and business stakeholders.
Collaborative team player with the ability to partner across departments and influence outcomes.
Strong Proficiency in MS Office, HR Database, and Org Chart tools.
Ability to think out of the box, be agile and flexible.
BA/BS degree required; Master’s degree a plus.
