Director of Global Pricing Strategy; Multi-Channel Sales
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Reporting to: Vice-President, Global Pricing

Position Summary
The Director of Global Pricing Strategy is responsible for leading the development and implementation of standard product pricing strategies for list price, standard discount schedule and market level pricing strategies on a global basis. Also provides direction and assists with maintaining and enhancing the processes, systems, and tools used by product businesses for establishing product standard or book prices; the publishing or communicating standard or book prices; and for the processes and systems used for negotiating and managing price deviations. Responsible for pricing strategies that support business unit efforts for price realization through process implementation with Rockwell Automation Sales and channels to market.

Promotes a high performance, collaborative work environment. Provides leadership and contributes to the development of organizational capabilities in pricing strategy through training, education, and influence.

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Define and lead the processes used by product businesses for the analysis of proposed and existing product pricing to determine price positioning relative to market segments, competition, and adjacent products.
• Identify and investigate methods for developing price strategies. Introduce to the organization as appropriate.
• Utilize economic and statistical modeling to support analysis in development of strategies, and for analyzing price realization performance on a product and/or regional / country basis.

LEADERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

• Lead the review of product business global price levels annually and recommend to business management appropriate changes in market price levels. This review should be timed to impact AOP pricing actions. Included in this will be face to face interaction with global business leaders, marketing, finance and business management.
• Lead by example and influence, building consensus of support for new pricing strategies and processes. Represent product businesses and global sales and marketing on cross business teams related to pricing.
• Utilize open and candid communication with all stakeholders.
• Establish SMART goals for self and department
• Conduct tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO9001, ISO14000, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures

INTERPERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Collaborate with other pricing stakeholders throughout the organization. This would include counterparts in finance, business leaders and product managers, commercial marketing, and Sales management for the global regions.
• Utilize multiple communication methodologies as required to build understanding of Rockwell Automation strategies.
• Facilitate sharing of experience information to encourage the leveraging of common processes and systems across the company, and with channel partners, as appropriate.

BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS
• Demonstrate a solid knowledge of business financial concepts. Evaluate pricing strategies and actions in the context of business financial performance, commercial viability
• Develop and implement pricing strategies based on a global and local perspective, with recognition of the regional interactions. Ensure alignment with business processes that provide visibility to pricing activity globally.
• Develop pricing strategies based on complete view of delivery chain including Rockwell Automation, channel partners, and customers.
• Develop key performance metrics to track individual, departmental, and organizational performance. Provide regular reporting to business management related to their geographic or product responsibility
• Ensure thorough familiarity with policies and procedures relating to standards of business conduct, and train and motivate subordinates in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or business with technical or industrial automation industry experience.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in related roles
Understanding of multi-channel sales models and product portfolio management
Strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to provide leadership in cross functional groups.
Need to be comfortable communicating and working with a variety of people not under direct control in a fast paced team environment.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Industrial marketing, automation or electrical industry experience a plus.
Graduate studies in economics, statistics, marketing and finance a benefit.
Experience with successfully deploying price optimization software strategies preferred.
